FOX: Special counsel Robert Mueller told President Trump’s attorneys last month that he does not consider Trump to be a criminal target in his investigation of Russian actions during the 2016 campaign, The Washington Post reported Tuesday night.
The paper, citing “three people familiar with the discussions,” reported that Mueller made the comments while negotiating with Trump’s attorneys about a potential interview with the president. The Post also reported — citing “two people with knowledge of the conversations” — that Mueller reiterated his need to interview Trump to determine whether the president intended to halt the Russia investigation while in office.
According to the Post, Trump has “privately expressed relief” at Mueller’s description of his legal status, but some advisers have warned that the special counsel may be baiting the president into letting his guard down for any interview. more here

Mueller is playing to Trump’s ego, looking for anything his team could twist into a ‘gotcha’ moment. Let’s hope Trump isn’t stupid enough to take the bait.

#1 – Unnamed sources, “people familiar”, “people with knowledge”, “privately expressed relief”. Bullshit.
#2 – Why should anyone believe Mueller? It’s a crime to lie to law enforcement but they can – and will – lie to you. Anything you say, including your own name, must be prefaced with “to the best of my recollection”.
#3 – If President Trump is not a criminal target, why is the investigation continuing?
#4 – Who _exactly_ is being investigated? For what crime(s)? There is no “there” there, and it can’t be “created” because too many people from both sides examine the evidence.
#5 – If there was any solid evidence, it would certainly have been leaked. The progs wouldn’t be able to resist crowing and celebrating.
#6 – Mueller shouldn’t worry about the investigation being shut down because the President is using it as a distraction to keep the progs focused away from more important stuff.
