On Saturday, a fire at an electric vehicle charging station in a Target parking lot burned multiple vehicles

Authorities had to call a hazmat crew to handle the “lithium-ion battery cleanup and disposal.” more here

    These damn things pollute more than a million ICE cars when they burn up, not to mention the special treatment they have to be given after the disaster and every one of them with Liion batteries is a disaster waiting to happen!

  11. These articles are from the MSM and as such, are not research worthy if you are investigating whether to buy and EV. You have to consider the brand and the brand’s history. I know home chargers can catch fire if you use the nema 14-50 plugs sold at home depot but if you hard wire your charger and the proper size wire and hire a competent electrician you won’t have that problem. SNS you are such a fraud. Yeah if you drive your MOdel X into the lake it will catch on fire. your point other than spreading fear? Basing your economic decisions on antedotal stories that are designed to spread fear is no way to go through life.

  13. Once you buy an EV you will NEVER want to own a gas car again (Diesel trucks excepted). The Model X long range performance I drive is so quiet and so quick to accelerate from dead stop it is unbelievable.

  14. OK dude. Ill go with you and not listen to a thing guys I personally know on various FDs who actually deal with these every day say. I will also forget the 30+ years I have fought various issues with industrial AGVs, or fully autonomous battery electric vehicles with nultiple battert technologies, like the ones I started up this morning. You win. IM CONVINCED!
