Musk’s SpaceX pegs initial Starlink internet price at $99 per month

(Reuters) – SpaceX is offering its Starlink broadband satellite internet service to test users for $99 a month, plus $499 for a setup kit, according to emails seen by Reuters, as Elon Musk’s space company pushes to offer fast internet speeds to rural customers with limited options.

People in states like Washington, Wisconsin and Idaho who signed up to test Starlink internet received invitations from SpaceX Monday night to join its “Better Than Nothing Beta” test.

SpaceX did not respond to a request for comment.

SpaceX has launched to orbit more than 800 satellites of the several thousand needed to offer broadband internet globally, a $10 billion investment it estimates could generate $30 billion annually to help fund Musk’s interplanetary rocket program dubbed Starship. more

  1. Well i’m sure there will be an article on here soon about who anonymous is now that he has revealed himself. It was not a ‘senior administration official’. It was a low level dipstick. I’m sure we’re all surprised about that.

One other thing. I had this feeling that anonymous was probably a queer. They do this sort of thing.
So i google searched miles taylor anonymous gay and near the top is some homo website that already has an article about it.

Doesn’t say he’s one of them. But i’m betting he is.

  2. DSL was an upgrade from Hughes Net satellite for me.
And don’t forget, storms take out satellite during the worst of those storms.

The only downside to country living? Where there are cows there is no cable.

Back to P. T. Musk. This talented pied piper has just enough success to dupe millions more. Look at all those Tesla charging stations that are all naturally decorated for Halloween. Cobwebs everywhere.

  3. My opinion, Musk is a brilliant SOB. Pricing will come down and he will own those rural areas. Plus reality, and Newsom, slapped Musk in the face and he seems to get more conservative every time he speaks. A valuable guy to have on our side.
On a side note, one of the girls at the gym just purchased a Tesla something or other. We happened to leave at the same time and I was kind of teasing here about how I could use that thing as a drip pan for my truck. She says, check this out. I follow her across the parking lot where she presses a couple buttons on her phone and that car backed out, maneuvered around other cars, and came and got us. Pretty cool. Not something I would want on my car but still impressive.

  4. “Roomba could make a car that backs itself up and also cleans the floors for $49.99…..”

Actually they are $249.99. Do you have one? I do. The way a Roomba learns to maneuver is by banging into shit. Probably not optimal for a car.

  5. I would never pay $249.99 for a floor sweeper, so yeah I don’t have one. When is Tesla gonna make floor sweepers that don’t bang into shit. Apparently that’s a niche that needs to be filled…..

Actually that’s not true. I paid $350 for a Dyson and if it’s staked off just right it vacuums in righteous circles….Art Bell would send an investigator…..
