Just watched it. I’m thinking that race shouldn’t be determined by the timing of the horses stride. Three way tie. Those three should run next Saturday.
What an awesome race! Those jockeys are tough little guys. That must be some outrageous adrenaline they get! The horses too!
I bet all my money on Thunderbolt based on the advice of Moe.

As a youngster, I was often accused/teased for having a big nose.
In a race like that I would have won by a half-length.
Gonna run all night!
Gonna run all day!
I’ll bet my money on the bob-tail nag,
Somebody bet on the bay.
I think technology detracts from sports. That was an awesome race. You could see the horses just dig.
WINS KENTUCKY DERBY BY A FLARED NOSTRIL
Henry Waxman coulda done that without leaving the padock!
@Harry.
It coulda been AOC.
But Waxman, yeah, such a disgusting spectacle. A person could get the stomach heaves just looking at his nostrils. I bet when he snorted the boogers would fly across the room in defiance of gravity, then at the last second, descend to earth, perhaps landing on some poor guy’s lunch.
@Harry Eyeball and Tim Buktu,
🤣
@Brad, my friends and I would race our horses and those horses really wanted to beat each other and there was not much to do but hang on! 😁
It was a squeaker at the finish, but nothing can beat Rich Strike’s win in the ’22 Derby.

@Conserv. Girl
I think of thoroughbred horse racing to be Art In Motion.
It is a beautiful thing to see in person but I’ve only seen it a few times in my life.
And Secretariat crossed the finish line 4 seconds sooner.
Rich Strike for the win
@Wild Bill
All you have to do is compare the reaction of the track announcer this year (strong) to 2022 (off the charts). I mean, he was flailing his arms around in disbelief
What I thought was most remarkable is he didnt even mention Rich Strike’s name once in the last half of the race until 3 seconds before the end
And its not as if RS materialized out of thin air. He was RIGHT THERE for about ten seconds.
