The house damaged in a fire Tuesday in the 2200 block of Patty Lane is being considered a total loss after a cooking accident in the garage, according to Ashwaubenon Public Safety Department.
Firefighters were sent out before noon Tuesday. Cmdr. Tomas Baxter of Ashwaubenon Public Safety said an accidental cooking fire started in the garage.
“People have grills outside their homes. Some people try to pull them in their garage just a little bit because it might be out of the wind,” Baxter said. “You just got to be very attentive to any cooking materials or open flames outside or near your residence.”
Baxter told the Press-Gazette the fire was “very well-established” by the time firefighters arrived. It took about 45 minutes to fully extinguish it. One person was in the home at the time of the fire; no injuries were reported. More
I imagine the home insurer has some questions, unless of course it’s State Farm. – Dr. Tar
I bet he pissed around with a garden hose before calling for help.
They always do.
It never works.
I remember standing on my wood deck getting ready to deep fry my wet, partially frozen turkey and noticed my neighbor cooking in his garage.
Some people are stupid.
Wisconsin? I bet alcohol was involved.
grill accident. patty lane. was the homeowners name Burger by any chance?
One of the girls on my church’s softball team years ago was named Patty and she got stuck with the nickname Burger and some of us still call her that years later even after she married one of my friends and had 5 kids. My wife was a star catcher and a tom boy and very athletic with 6 brothers also named Patty was a real-life Peppermint Patty (the life of the party) to my Charlie Brown, I’m not kidding. Total opposites do attract, and we balanced each other out very well.
Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope,
ahhhhhhhhhhhh… nope.
I see this all the time in the winter in upstate NY, they’ll open the garage door and put the grill half in / half out.
