“Idaho’s is the only cobalt mine in the United States, and it’s going to remain so,” Jervois Global CEO Bryce Crocker told NPR.
It’s nice to be granted a govt-mandated monopoly, isn’t it, you asshole?
Anyone see the price of lithium lately?
Great! We need to do more in-country. Can we in-source (get them in the US)? OK, dumb question since Nan and Joey will not allow it.
Well, in my world cobalt is used in cutting tools.
Brad, in my world we use cobalt for hardening fiberglass resin when we build molds.
Any of the enviros who are so high on “sustainabile” energy understand what “RARE” earth means?
…this is NOT a renewable resource.
And there’s even LESS of it than most OTHER resources.
…hence the word “rare”…
…will the Federal Government be licensing it for slave labor, too?
…you know, just like they do in those diverse cultures run by BIPOCS that are SO much better than the Western civilization they hate so much…

Nice & Toxic.
Good Job Green Assholes!

I did not know that. Us machinists love the stuff. Holds a super sharp edge, resist heat.
In my world we mix chrome and cobalt to make a partial denture alloy.
@Wild Bill: Bipolar people are worried about the price of lithium. Then the next day they aren’t. Then the next day they are…
It’s only going to be operated for about 8 yrs.
It’s not going to produce enough to supply all of this country’s needs.
More theater from Democrats.
If it’s to be an open pit mine, another revenue stream would be tours around the perimeter in electric vehicles for the communists. They hate open pit mining (well, any mining actually) but they’ll just love the tours of the rape of our lands that help make the batteries that will “save the planet”.
It is amazing what environmentalists allow when it is for something they like.
Only 8 years???? Then what? Those miners are gonna have to learn to code.
12 year old miners in Africa unavailable for comment.
They won’t be able to compete with the cobalt mines that use child labor and pay them pennies.
