New Jersey Residents to Be Showered with ‘Rain Tax’

Breitbart: New Jersey residents could soon see their hard-earned dollars go down the drain if Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy decides to sign recently passed legislation from New Jersey’s legislature allowing for a “rain tax.”

The legislation, Senate Bill S-1073, which the New Jersey Assembly and Senate approved, would allow local governments to create water utilities that would give them the power to tax homeowners and business owners with large paved surfaces.

When it rains, the rainwater mixes with pollutants and seeps into municipal sewage systems. The money collected would replace or repair sewage pipes or create “green infrastructure,” such as rain gardens that would collect polluted water. more

  1. The problem is not enough tax money coming in, but how is wasted on just BS items. We need new taxes for road construction and maintenance. Well what happened to all the road use taxes built into price of gas and diesel. In New York state we have toll booth collectors receiving over $100,000.00 per year. Pretty good for making change all day. The cities collect huge amounts of property taxes each year, where is that money going? The problem is not too little taxes, but out of control spending.

  2. As Sylvia wrote – the stupid Joisey-ans are taking Maryland’s failed policies and trying to make them work.
Classic socialism – take something that’s dead, prop it up, toss some stinkum on it to hide the smell of putrescence, cover the face with colorful wax, and try to convince the public it’s new and viable.

Seein as they got Booger and Menendez, I guess they’ll buy anything.

  3. A permeable concrete has been developed that allows water to soak right through it to satisfy this concern.

Amazing to watch water being sprayed on it.

Now I wonder if there are any political connections to a local concrete company that ties into this law.

    Wouldn’t be the first time.

That said, how evil to screw with people’s water and land. It’s like they took history classes to learn how to be iron-fisted dictators with better P.R.
