Haywire: Armed robberies are so out-of-control in New Orleans that now the problem has trickled its way into the school system.
Two teachers were robbed at gunpoint shortly after arriving at the Mid-City charter school, Success Preparatory Academy in the 2000 block of Bienville Street early in the morning.

When I was a kid the teachers left their purses on the window sill in the classroom.
Now they need armed guards to escort them to the classroom, and a vault for their purses.
