Legal Insurrection: Piles of trash left behind by college students? What about climate change and the environment? Is that all just talk or someone else’s job?
News 10 in New York reports:
Residents frustrated over trash piles left behind by college students
The end of the college semester has once again led to piles of trash left on porches and in the streets by students who’ve gone home.
It’s not just a build up of trash but of frustration from both residents and the Department of General Services (DGS).
“It’s not fair. It’s not fair that we have to live like this,” said resident Asia McGhee.
She said no one should have to live like this. Mounds of trash on the porch next-door was left behind from college students which have attracted flies and left smells of rotting food McGhee describes as unbearable. MORE
Hypocrisy is another byproduct of indoctrination.
Just like the tons of trash left after every Earth Day parade. What a joke.
Just like progs pretend to hate capitalism/wealth, but will try and screw you out of a buck faster than anyone.
Aaaaaannnnnd still the college pigs call the Po Po “pigs”!
Get a mirror you dumbed-down, teeth-gnashing, pearl-clutching, bead-strumming, self-absorbed, spoon-fed, celebrity-obsessed, White guilt-ridden, booger-eating, bottled-water-drinking, Politically Correct, kumbaya-singing, sheet grabbing, pillow biting, moisturizing-metro-sexual, short-attention-span brats!
Most likely the landlords get a security deposit that should cover trash clean up. Not like they have not seen this before, but they don’t mind the money coming in. Not unique to Albany.
…personally, I’d rather have the piles of trash than the college students, just sayin’…
It’s on the landlords. It’s their responsibility to keep their properties sanitary and maintained. If the city is not coming down on the landlords, the city is culpable as well.
Brat kids who feel that adulthood means no responsibility have been doing this kind of crap for eons. They don’t care if they lose their deposit. They, in essence, paid the landlord to clean up after them.
Homes turning to rentals does not have to turn a neighborhood into blight, but it almost always seems to. That goes to the city not enforcing their own ordinances and the slumlords not maintaining their properties. If the city and the landlord don’t care, why would the tenant be expected to?
There is a trend in the investor swarm to purchase homes and rent them, whether as individuals or as part of a fund. It’s great for the speculative market. It is helping to sustain unprecedented price increases in previously marginal markets, but it is forcing previously stable and safe neighborhoods into blight.
This generation complains constantly about over consumption but it appears that it only applies to soap.
