New York family of woman slain by angry ex moves to sue state over cashless bail laws

PM: The family of a slain upstate New York mom-of-three are considering suing Governor Kathy Hochul and local authorities as the woman was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend less than a day after he was put back on the streets via cashless bail.

The family’s lawyer, John Froman, told the New York Post, “The family feels authorities dropped the ball here, resulting in a heinous violent act and the murder of a daughter, sister and grandchild.”

On October 30, 30-year-old Keaira Bennefield was taking her children to school when her estranged husband, Adam Bennefield, allegedly shot her execution style after an ambush.

Adam Bennefield was arrested less than a day before the murder on a handful of misdemeanors over his harassment of Keaira Bennefield. She filmed on Facebook an attack he allegedly perpetrated on her on September 28. more

This ain’t no joke.

Guys that get arrested for domestic assault pretty openly say things like “I’ll get you, bitch”, and mean it. They are already proven cowardly assholes by laying their hands on a woman in the FIRST place, and believe me, getting slapped into the backseat of a police car followed by an evening in the company of other miscreants in jail who will spend the night punking them because they know they won’t hit a MAN, ain’t gonna improve his mood.

We generally tried to encourage our domestic patients to find new digs for themselves and their kids as soon as possible, ideally before homecoming time, to avoid such gory reunions. We provided what resources we could, safe houses and women’s agencies and NGOs that we had some confidence could steer them to shelters and get them legal help with restraining orders and custody battles and such, but there wasn’t a fuckton you could do for them a lot of times.

Sometimes they were psychologically beat down and believed they couldn’t survive on their own.

Sometimes they had Battered Wife Syndrome and saw anyone trying to help them as the enemy.

Sometimes they were ashamed to seek family help, or burned some bridges to be with their loser in the first place.

And sometimes they were just knocked unconcious with their faces so badly slashed that their cheeks blew out like fish gills when you tried to bag them before intubation.

And don’t forget that Mr. Vengeful will take his wrath out on the KIDS, too.

Moreso on ones that aren’t HIS.

Not for nothing is the family court part of the county courthouse the most heavily guarded area.

And not for nothing did they have laws back in my day that, in a domestic assault, ONE of the two parties had to go to jail for 48 hours manditory.

But now, Democrats have wrecked all that up, the most in minority populations that tend to NEED protection the most.

It’s quite something to see when one of those craven cocksucker excuses for a man yells over his shoulder as the cops herd his useless carcass out the door about how he’s gonna break her face and cut her good for getting him arrested, and see her tears of terror mingle with the blood from her broken nose along her ruined eye socket as she registers the truth of his words. These assholes tend to go for the face, something about making her belive she’s too ugly for any other man to want her, and she knows (usually from past experience) that he WILL get back out, sooner or later.

And come back home.

The system was fucked up enough before “no cash bail” became the latest pander to the criminal class.

It must be damn near impossible now.

And cops don’t like the futilty of arresting guys, only to have them walk back out before their shift is over, so they could be justified in thinking there’s no point in arresting them to begin with, especially if SHE is begging them not to in order to lessen her beating later.

I’m not surprised this gal got killed.

Im just surprised it doesn’t happen dozens of times every day.
