With the distress sale of its building to John Hopkins University, The Newseum will close its last public offering next year. A symbol of what is wrong with journalism today, the entity dedicated to celebrating free speech did a lousy job of keeping itself relevant enough to be financially viable. More

I read that the News Museum’s biggest money maker was their “Fake News” tee shirt. No lie.
Who wants to pay $25.00 to go through their museum? That’s a lot of money to pay to stroll a tribute to Fake News.

Professional Journalism is on its last leg anyway.
They should have stayed in Rosslyn. The media want to be the story, not just report it, and starting with the blatant media bias shoved down our throats in the 0bama years, nobody was in the mood to go marvel at their ego-driven paean to their own awesomeness. Then came President Trump to finish them off. Good riddance.

Too bad Trump didn’t buy it. That would have been just a tad too much winning. Some fed judge would have to block the sale.
They spent $450M on it and sold it for $372 — I think that’s what I read. Too bad they couldn’t do a deal with the Bible Museum a few years ago for the building. People turning away from “journalism” and reaching for the Bible.
