NFL Star Logan Ryan and His Police Veteran Dad Start Company to Support Cops

“I believe in the police. I don’t believe in defunding the police,” he stated.

Neon Nettle: New York Giants safety Logan Ryan and his 25 years police veteran dad have launched a new program to support law enforcement, bridging the gap between police and communities.

Logan referred to his father, Lester Ryan, as his hero.

The father and son started a Ryan Alternative Solutions Training (RAST) to train police in de-escalation, seeking real reform instead of the “Defund The Police.”

“My dad is my hero. He’s a black man in this country,” Ryan said.

“He’s 25 years a cop in Camden, New Jersey. …

“He worked in the FBI, the SWAT team, he also has multiple black belts in martial arts.” more here

  1. It’s a good approach. Some situations call for de-escalation, not violence.

“I don’t believe in de-funding the police”. He has his head on right.

  2. Good thing they didn’t call it Ryan Alternative Training Solutions. That would have been a PR nightmare.

And before anyone jumps me over that, I’m a 30 year vet in the field, so it’s purely tongue-in-cheek…

  3. This is why I still watch the NFL.

There are plenty of decent players who are family people and good hard working men.

Google Allejandro Villanueva, Pat Tillman, and others

My next door Neighbour is a retired 10 year Pro. Solid guy, goes to church, never arrested, now teaches Gym & Religion at a private school.

    > There are plenty of decent players who are family people and good hard working men.

Who work hard to ensure the rest can keep doing what they do. What they know the “others” do. That they work so hard to enable.

    Those heroes.

I didn’t use the word Hero.

Clearly I wrote: decent, family people, hard working and men.

If Richard Sherman breaks into his in-laws house drunk, do you blame his coach? Do you blame his last quarterback?

Do you blame a construction company when a labourer gets into a fight at Walmart on Sunday?

Talk to the courts that that cut every asshole a sweet deal.

    > If Richard Sherman breaks into his in-laws house drunk, do you blame his coach?

Is his coach trying to convince me that I should pay his lawyers? Because Not All Players Are Like That.

    > Do you blame his last quarterback?

The one who picked him up, from a previous drunk “incident”? That wasn’t a crime (that any reasonable prosecutor would prosecute)? Because the alternative might be bad for the quarterback’s future career?

    > Do you blame a construction company when a labourer gets into a fight at Walmart on Sunday?

Does Walmart hush it up? Because the “construction” company’s “connected”?

    > Talk to the courts that that cut every asshole a sweet deal.

About what? You’ve already established their morality. Nothing for me to add.

  7. You also seem to know much more about these players personal lives than the average person who does not watch.

    or are you guessing?

I only watch the shit that happens on the green (or blue) if you happen to watch Boise State once in a while.
