Officials out of power want back into power after November. But the middle of a worldwide health emergency is not the time to be making tendentious accusations.

…when people play politics in the middle of a crisis, we are all less safe.

We are less safe because public servants are distracted when they are dragged into politics.

We’re less safe because the American people have been recklessly scared into doubting the competence of their government to help keep them safe, secure and healthy.

And we’re less safe because when we’re focused on political gamesmanship, we’re not paying enough attention to the real issues. For example, we should be united behind ensuring that, in a future congressional appropriations package, U.S. companies are encouraged to return to our shores from China the production of everything from medical face masks and personal protective equipment to vitamin C and penicillin.

  1. I have a friend that lives in one of the counties affected by the “Shelter-in-Place” order in San Francisco. That was done in the guise of keeping them “safe” from the Coronavirus. She emailed me about how it was supposed to start last night. She wasn’t freaking out, but just concerned. This is what I responded:

“Last night, as I was trying to fall asleep, I kept thinking about how far the left is going to push this. We all know that it has nothing to do with keeping people safe (some precautions are valid). This over reaction is nothing but a test to see just how far they can control us.

What this is, is an unofficial Martial Law. Some local governments (city, county, state) are trying to ban guns. Here is an example (but I’ve heard it happening in other places, too):

[I linked to the post here about the New Orleans Mayor banning the sale and transportation of firearms.]

Since I couldn’t sleep, I prayed. [My sister] told me last night that she heard that our stupid D governor was thinking of canceling school until NOVEMBER. I hope that is just a rumor. I don’t see how they could seriously think that is a good idea. But, then, most of what they are doing is beyond common sense.

Stay safe and I pray that God’s people will turn from seeking safety in the plans of man and bow down to God as ruler and provider. I also prayed last night that the God of Justice take action. In all things, God’s will be done.”

  2. Tim Morrison, one of the few sane, believeable witnesses called to testify before the House’s hilarious fake impeachment “inquiry”.
After all, Morrison had the foresight to distrust and keep an eye on Vindman.

How’d this opinion piece slip by the WaPo editors?
