It’s a dog with a slice of ham on his face.

  1. The dog is just hamming it up. Yellow labs like golden retrievers are such patient dogs for the most part, although my golden retriever would never have let me do that to her, the slice of ham would’ve been gobbled up real fast. That dog could be named Mo Ham Head.

  2. My dogs aren’t that patient with people food or dogs food that comes out of a people-food-like container. The only people food I can get them to hold onto without eating is spaghetti. You know how it can be kind of sticky without sauce? I lay a strand or two across their backs and it sticks to them, they can only reach so much and when they walk it tugs at their hair. I used to send the cat into a licking fit with the same trick, rolling around nuts trying to get the pasta off its back.

  3. Years ago, my late father would take a soft caramel, chew it for a moment to soften it up even more, and then stick it to the roof of Gordito’s (our terrific and intelligent standard poodle) mouth. Gordito would roll around frantically trying to dislodge the candy so he could eat it in one doggy gulp. He’d do this for a couple of minutes before he’d finally succeed. Lest you think this was mistreating the poor pooch, once he’d finish he’d instantly go back to Dad and beg for another one!
