Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, winning recognition as a woman “who keeps the flame of democracy burning amid a growing darkness.”

The former opposition presidential candidate was lauded for being a “key, unifying figure” in the once deeply divided opposition to President Nicolás Maduro’s government, said Jørgen Watne Frydnes, chair of the Norwegian Nobel committee. More

Only if he changes his policies, according to Nobel experts who argue that he is at present dismantling the international world order the award committee cherishes.

Instead, the committee may wish to highlight a humanitarian organisation, journalists, or a United Nations institution, they say. Or they could spring a surprise.

Last year’s winner was Japanese atomic bomb survivors group Nihon Hidankyo. The threat of nuclear weapons has been a long-standing focus of the committee.

    Which is exactly why we love him. “The World Order”- allowing NATO members to sponge off of our goodwill, to open their borders to every manner of all third worlders who won’t assimilate/hate democracy and want Sharia instituted, that same world order whose members hate their indigenous people so much that they would supplant their own culture and institutions in the name of progress.

    It also should not be lost that the Nobel Committee awarded the prize to someone who admires Trump, is conservative, often quotes Margaret Thatcher, and would implement the same Trumpian policies that cause the committee consternation and heartburn.

  6. If the Nobel Peace Prize meant what it was originally supposed to mean, then the committee should have awarded it to President Trump. But it doesn’t mean that¹, and hasn’t for decades. So, I’m glad that the committee didn’t give the award to him.

    Plus Trump was ‘lobbying’ for the Prize for weeks now to make them look stupid BECAUSE he knew they couldn’t/wouldn’t give it to him, because they’re dickheads.
