Northwestern College, which is located in the south suburbs [Chicago], has abruptly shut down after 122 years in operation.
The Oak Lawn school made the announcement that it has shut down and closed its doors as of Saturday, July 6.

Seems like Black Lives Matter could have sent them a few hundred million dollars to keep going. Did they close shop because of too much shoplifting in the bookstore?

The overly specialized are getting squeezed out as more institutions lower their standards and up their tuitions (backed by federal student loans).
It’s a private college, and I think that more and more of them will start closing due to financial concerns. I did post-graduate work at a private college decades ago, and if I were applying now I would be doing something else – the tuition is now staggering and cost prohibitive. Three years of tuition was about $16,000 a little over 40 years ago; now one year is four times that. My total student loans were $15,000; now the student loan debt would be over $200,000.
