Not So “Jolly” Anymore

Newsbusters

That was the take of ex-Republican Congressman turned MSNBC analyst David Jolly on Katie Phang’s show on Saturday morning.

Jolly was reacting to the news that Speaker Kevin McCarthy will reportedly organize a Frank Church-style committee to investigate abuses in recent years by the FBI and CIA. Liberals loved that in the 1970s!

Jolly bemoaned that any probe means “Republicans can shred at the integrity of the federal government,” and “undermine our confidence as Americans in self-governance….That is at the heart of this tear down, break down the government. We can’t trust the government. We’re going to topple it.”

Did anyone notice MSNBC never felt endless investigations of the Trump administration shredded the federal government’s integrity, or toppled it? This street only goes one way.

Then Jolly really turned bitter:

You better believe that is going to be heroin in the veins of Fox News viewers over the next two years.

  1. Well, like most media creatures, he has cause and effect reversed. There is no reason to respect anyone who introduces themselves with “I’m from the government…”

  2. The Federal Government has no integrity – so this asshole has nothing to worry about.

  3. Jolly isn’t different from the majority of former or present Congressmen as it relates to their Oath of Office. The oath they have sworn is not to the Political Party, nor is it to the Government.

They solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

Members have also been required to sign an oath, which is held by the Clerk of the House.

No Representative or Senator has ever been reprimanded or expelled for their failure to Support and Defend the Constitution, even when they willingly and knowingly pass Unconstitutional legislation.

  4. …undermine our confidence as Americans in self-governance…

Mr. Jolly, as an American my confidence in self-governance is pretty solid.

Oh, wait, you seem to think that’s what we have now!

    HAHAHAHAAAHAAAHAAAHAHAHA!

Davy boy, you’re either a liar or really stupid. Likely both.

  5. Never forget.

David Jolly and Joe Scarborough have been working behind the scenes, along with dozens of other ‘former’ Rs, at msNBC since before 2K. Don’t forget Rick Wilson, David Brock, Steve Schmidt et al on and on. The North Carolina R’s are particularly corrupt and run triple-whammy double-crosses (Ha Ha) and church lists and banksturds of amerikans ATM accounts.

    It’s all there, in advance.

It’s like you are watching Ozzy Osbournes lyrics “like generals at black masses, plotting . . .” manifest into reality on weekday mornings as Brrrrzinskyys Daughter carries on “The Mission” with a little help from her UK Kat mates.

  6. I don’t know what Jolly’s crying about. Has he not heard of the Uniparty? Kevin McCarthy was just installed to prevent any partisan discomfort which might arise in a GOP House.

  7. None of them ever take their oath seriously and they’re never held accountable for violating their oath.

We all live in reality instead of what we wish or would like it to be even if some refuse to admit it. I wish I had answers but I don’t and just know nothing in my lifetime has gotten better by voting it just always gets worse. I am to the point now that I don’t even think we have a country led by Americans anymore, I believe our country is ran by foreigners, with the Chinese communist party being the head of that group.

  8. “undermine our confidence”

Ok, I just stopped laughing. Now I’m crying. Ok, not really. I’m banging my head on my desk. Not really.

Truth is; I’m smiling. The Bible talks a lot about fools. I think God had this idiot in mind. God’s pretty smart, you know!

  9. I’m not convinced the US can be saved but no salvation can possibly happen without term limits. Scumcrunts like Nasty Pelosi and Die-an Feinstein have no business serving more than two terms ever. Neither does any other member of congress.

Ex-members need to be barred from lobbying for a minimum of ten years after exiting congress.
