Not the Onion – Wikipedia Founder Enters Battle To Fight Fake News

Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, is sick and tired of fake news and “alternative facts.” He’s seemingly unaware that Wikipedia is so synonymous with “alternative facts” that professors warn students against using it.

Story –> Wikipedia Founder Has ‘Radical’ Solution to Fight Fake News.

My first foray with Wikipedia was when I edited their ridiculously biased article on Bruno Hauptmann. They declared him railroaded and innocent.

I included ironclad damning evidence that their “factual” entry failed to include.

It was removed over and over. To this day their article will not include my “alternative facts.”

If anyone out there believes Bruno Hauptmann is innocent I would love to debate it with you in the comments.

  1. MEL BLANC WAS IN A BAD CAR WRECK AND LAID UP AT HOME DURING RECOVERY.

WHEN I WAS A KID, I USED TO RING MEL BLANC’S DOORBELL (PACIFIC PALISADES CA, TOYOPA DRIVE) AND ASK FOR BUGS BUNNY OR WHOEVER ELSE I BELIEVED LIVED IN HIS HOUSE.

HE WOULD ANSWER THE SPEAKER ON THE PORCH AND SAY “JUST A MINUTE, LET ME FIND HIM”, THEN COME BACK WITH WHOEVER I WANTED, YOSEMITE SAM, PORKY PIG, ETC.

I TRIED TO ADD THIS TO MEL BLANC’S WIKIPEDIA PAGE AND IT HELD FOR A BIT, ONLY TO BE TAKEN DOWN LATER.

SO, I TRIED TO ADD VALUABLE NON-FAKE NEWS, ONLY TO BE REJECTED!!!

RIP MR. BLANC, YOUR JOKE ON ME LASTED FOR A LONG TIME!! GREAT MEMORIES!! THIS COMPASSION FOR DUMB LITTLE BENITO SHOULD BE NOTED ON WIKIPEDIA!!

  2. Yeah, they’re all about fake news. Look at the Conservative talk-show radio hosts that keep getting their biographies changed to represent them as sinister sub humans. And when they are corrected, wiki deletes it. Pfft.

  3. How many people below the age of 50 know who Bruno Hauptmann was? Or, how many people below the age of 50 know who Charles Lindbergh was? I’m betting less than 1%. Shall we debate that.

  4. Wikipedia was actually a terrific idea. A whole lot of people with a knowledge of a specific subject could spend a small amount of their time building an online encyclopedia that was the largest in the world. Unfortunately Wales didn’t realize how quickly it would become politicised (most from the left) and didn’t really build in the safeguards that would be needed. By allowing changes to go up immediately without verification and only relying on people to complain it became a license to damage and destroy reputations. I’ll still go up and poke around non political sections such as ww2 battles and such but past that not very often. What a waste.

  5. The way those worthless a-holes let William Connolley edit all those climate articles is reason enough to burn Wikipedia to the ground. It has been called a Wackopedia made up of a neo-moaist cabal of global warming zealots….

  6. Best wikipedia edit that lasted a day: Charlie Sheen, American actor, half man, half cocaine. Winning!

From 2009 through 2012, the entries for Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals and psychopathic narcissist kept getting dumbed down. I suspect they hit to close to home for someone.
