Now They’re After “The Star Spangled Banner”

All it took was a “Salon” contributor to come up with a false piece of parallel history full of “Neo-Confederates” to have idiots on the left declare “The Star Spangled Banner” a “Racist Anthem.” I know, because vandals spray-painted the accusation on the Francis Scott Key Memorial in Baltimore yesterday.

Tucker Carlson had the author of the scurrilous opinion piece on his show last night for a thorough “Tuckering”- Watch

I’m not going to link to the original Salon slander, but instead offer up a well-done refutation of the piece of garbage, from the Lid – Here

  1. WE NEVER LEARN!! JUST LIKE OPENING UP THE FLOODGATES OF ALL LEVELS OF PERVERSITY UNDER THE GUISE OF GAY MARRIAGE, IT WAS NEVER AS SIMPLE AS CONFEDERATE FLAGS!! THEY AFTER THE DESTRUCTION OF EVERYTHING AMERICA!!!

  2. I’m getting so sick and tired of this shit that if these scum sucking little maggots were shot on sight for doing this, it wouldn’t hurt my feeling one bit!

    I’m ready for some RETRIBUTION!

  3. When will mayonnaise be removed from store shelves? POCs consider it food for white people, white people are inherently racist, whites who are relatives to slave owners like it, and previous slave owners liked it. It’s placed in a clear containers so there is no mistaking the whiteness that causes serious anxiety, like pouring salt on an open wound every walk down the store isle. Salt too, it’s too white and clearly a minority killer with high content in junk food.

  4. Like everybody, I know the first stanza by heart. Just now, I read the rest of the lyrics over and over and I just don’t see any racist or “neo-confederate” there at all. Can somebody please point out those parts for me?

O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
    Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner, O long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
A home and a country, should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave,
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war’s desolation.
Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: ‘In God is our trust.’
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oliver Wendell Holmes wrote a fifth stanza in 1861, and it appeared in contemporary songbooks. I don’t see a problem with this, either.

When our land is illumined with Liberty’s smile,
If a foe from within strike a blow at her glory,
Down, down with the traitor that dares to defile
The flag of her stars and the page of her story!
By the millions unchained who our birthright have gained,
We will keep her bright blazon forever unstained!
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
While the land of the free is the home of the brave.

  5. TO DrTar

It didn’t take a Salon article or any other article.
AntiFa WAS MISTAKENLY A LITTLE TOO HONEST when they chanted:
“No Trump. No wall. No USA at all.”
    IT’S THAT SIMPLE.

WE wipe THEM out, or THEY wipe US out.
Call me silly (not Shirley), but I prefer the former.
