Newsbusters
NPR argues [in a recent lawsuit against the Trump Administration] with a straight face that removing any taxpayer subsidies is a violation of the First Amendment. Apparently, liberal speech must be forcibly supported by conservative taxpayers for the Constitution to be upheld. NPR CEO Katherine Maher has even contended that defunding NPR would be violation of the free speech of NPR’s private backers.
Trained lawyer Dan Schneider exposes the nonsense. NPR is not a private broadcaster. It takes federal funds, and it has to live up to what the Public Broadcasting Act of 1967 called for: “strict adherence to objectivity and balance” in programming. But the CPB has never forced “strict adherence.” Liberal bias would go unchallenged. More
NPR has the right to a swift kick in the ass. They were an experiment from “back in the day” when the average citizen had kne newspaper, three TV channels on a good day, and perhaps a half dozen radio stations to choose from. They are dinosaurs, like the Spanish-American war tax on our phone bills.

The ‘NPR’, like many other tax-payer pieces-of-shit, have gotten WAY too comfortable with their position and deserve to be SHIT CANNED.
Much like loaning a tool to a neighbor and after a short period of time of not returning the tool, they think the tool belongs to them.
What would Oscar the Grouch tell ’em?
That’s what happens when the government believes it has the right to STEAL at will WHATEVER AMOUNT THEY DESIRE. The parasites who then feed upon that theft inevitably feel as entitled as the government criminals who happily do the stealing. Oh, and naturally, both worthless major parties are to blame.
Send a few D9 Cat bulldozers to each and every NPR and PBS building and be done with it.
CPB and NPR both drink from the same poisoned liberal well. America doesn’t need them. The Lib BS line is broadcast by the three legacy networks. That’s more than enough BS to hit the public in the face.
@Richard Cranium:
I second that motion! And it would be a two-fer in many cases, because a lot of NPR studios are in university and college buildings. Win-win!
The 1st Amendment sez you have the right to free speech… NOT paid speech!
Firing Line was good and Book notes was good 25 years ago, they destroyed that. Other than that I don’t remember to have gotten anything from Public Broadcasting.
OK, then, NPR, I demand you pay me to prevent anyone from quartering troops in your homes. If you refuse, you are guilty of violating the 3rd Amendment.
“NPR Declares It Has a First Amendment Right to Taxpayer Dollars”
LOL, someone owes me some money for my late night ramblings. Is it just me or are the new legal minds dumber than a bag full of dog turds.
Ask anyone that knows me, the government should pay to shut me up!
That’s kind of the same thing, isn’t it?
If you let them, Liberals fuck up EVERYTHING.
NPR lost its usefulness many years ago. I spend a fair amount of time on the road and use Sirius XM. For $20 a month, I can listen to anything I want – there are hundreds of channels with different types of content.
The left is upset because NPR is a reliable and, due to federal funding, stable source of leftist views. Left wing radio has a bad track record; witness the collapse of Air America and the declining ratings of MSNBC. Most people aren’t progressive, and left wing/progressive radio stations aren’t commercially viable – thus NPR provides an outlet for leftists that doesn’t have to be (and isn’t) commercially viable.
“Other than that I don’t remember to have gotten anything from Public Broadcasting.”
What do you mean? Their bumper music is fantasyic. Best klezmers and oboes ever.
But yes, get them off the government dole. I’m sure Pfizer will pick up the slack.
You’ll get nothing and like it!
MOAR TOTEBAGS!!11!!
Just another “one of those things” that makes one wonder, where in the fuck have the republicans been for the last umpteen tears.
“Klezmers and oboes!” LOL!!!
