NY DMVs Still Overwhelmed Weeks After Giving Illegals Licenses

DanBongino: New York became the thirteenth state to allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses earlier this month, and there are an estimated million illegals in the Empire State. To “prove” their identity, illegals are allowed to provide expired work permits, foreign birth certificates, and even Border Crossing Cards (which are only valid for 72 hours for a stay in the U.S. near the border).

Photos and video from the day the new law took effect showed NY’s DMVs completely overwhelmed. Ironically it’s the same liberals who pushed for this policy who will tell you that voter ID is “racist” because some people can’t obtain photo ID.

The DMV takes long enough as is wherever you live, and adding a million people to those using its services is only bound to make things worse. So much worse that it’s now been over two weeks and the lines at NY’s DMVs are still stretching around the corner. read more

  1. Just for funsies a few years ago I handed the TSA agent at Atlanta airport my concealed carry permit and my ticket. He refused the permit, said it wasn’t “approved ID”. I pointed out the “Real ID” designation on the back, but nope. The permit requires mug shots, fingerprints, local, state and federal records checks before being issued. So then I showed my Georgia driver’s license. That was sufficient.

I DID NOT show him my other driver’s licenses, from other states with different names. All valid.

ID cards mean jack shit and I’m living proof.

  2. For someone who wanted to create an alternate identity in today’s digital age a forged Border Crossing Card could set up an alter ego fairly easily. Especially if you can speak Spanish.

Back in the 80’s all that was required was a birth certificate of someone who passed away that was about the same age.
