That side of it WEARS OFF pretty quick.
In an effort to distance himself from the accusations that he is only interested in the trappings, the fame and the celebrity of the presidency, Obama sticks himself to them like an electromagnet.
For something to wear off, you had to have harbored those feelings. One gets the sense that Obama’s statement is a warning –
“Dudes, all the cool stuff doesn’t outweigh all the work you actually have to do. I wasn’t prepared for that at all.”
Obama ends with this doozy –

Yes. It was clear that Obama had a love of country when he shouted to his minions, “we are just 2 days from fundamentally transforming this country.”
His wife said she was never proud of this country until the transformer was going to take the controls, and America was a downright mean country.
