Ocasio-Cortez slammed as ‘financially illiterate’ at Sharpton event over Amazon, faces calls to be ousted from office

fox-

an investor ripped those who opposed the Amazon deal with the state that would have generated billions in tax revenue and 25,000 jobs.

“The people campaigning against the Amazon campus are financially illiterate,” said Tracy Maitland, president and chief investment officer of Advent Capital Management during a panel discussion the Black Economic Agenda, according to the New York Post.

He later told the newspaper that he blames the 29-year-old Democratic Socialist for spreading misinformation and helping to kill the agreement with Amazon that would have benefited people in her home state.

“This was a disgrace. I partially blame AOC for the loss of Amazon. She doesn’t know what she doesn’t know. That’s scary. We have to make sure she’s better educated or vote her out of office,” he said, noting that Ocasio-Cortez implied the state was giving a blank $3 billion check rather than tax credits based on the number of jobs created.

  1. This bitch is a place holder, an actress. She poorly represents the push for socialism driven by here Indian mentor. And some white guy that never received his participation trophy for basket weaving. The major problem is, our universities have been churning out dead losers for some time now that are all to happy to vote for this morons bull shit. And not enough parents to set their off spring straight. People will die. But I’m not willing to give up the Republic. Bad things are coming. It’s unavoidable.

  2. @B_Brad ~ don’t ‘misunderestimate’ AOC. she’s got the same ‘righteous outrage’ as a certain megalomaniac that came to power in 1930’s Germany

    btw, you’re on a roll tonight … a bit pessimistic, but you were spot-on w/ the ‘ballot-harvesting’ comments … I also cringe for 2020

  3. A lot of people in NYC are not disappointed Amazon didn’t take over Long Island City. In their defense, it would have yuppie-ized the area and drove out the NYC character that’s still there.

On the other hand, given the price of land in NYC, the yuppieization of Long Island City is inevitable. Kinda like what happened to Brooklyn.

  4. It’s interesting that there are other ‘socialists’ who aren’t quite with her yet. Perhaps some of them can be yanked back to being old-fashioned Democrats who held things at ‘socialism-light.’ It is, after all, what we have now.

On the other hand, what we have now will bankrupt us during the next decade, so it probably doesn’t matter.

  5. Val, you’re right, I’m glad Brad is still here too. We need people on our side that are not afraid to speak their/our minds. Most of us here do speak our minds, but Brad is more eloquent than most.

  7. I love to hear her go at it. I think she’s better
than ANY Republican in keeping Dem socialists out
of power for a very long time. Long may she rant
    and bleed their supporters dry.

  8. At a minimum, she needs to be booted from the House Financial Services Committee. The little cretin was probably right there in Zuccotti Park, wallowing like a pig and screaming at the “Banksters”, and suddenly, she’s in a position to inflict her fever dreams on the whole country? Why is my freshman Democrat congresswoman a cypher with no power, and this nutjob is up there running her mouth at Sharton, like she was running for President? its almost as if a powerful patron was snow plowing for her.
