  1. The first winter after moving to Minnesota, I saw cars on the local lakes. I freaked out because where I came from, the lakes were frozen over enough to walk on but never drive on.

When I got to work the next day and told people what I saw, they laughed at me. Now I know that there are whole mini cities on the lakes during the coldest parts of the winter. There are even car races on the lakes. Oof dah!

  2. “I think the weight of those vehicles and the sun beating down on them loosened the ice up underneath them and caused them to break apart,” said Lieutenant Ed Gritzner, Lake Geneva Police Department.

    YOU DONT SAY?…………..

  3. Yep, park a few 200 degree engines in the same area, on a sunny 40 degree day, and see how fast a tow truck arrives.
The EPA, DNR, and other agencies will issue fines later in the week.
Up north, we had a minimum distance rule on the ice. At least 5 truck lengths apart.
