Only In Seattle: FBI’s advice is reason to fear a Seattle terrorist attack

Terrific.

MyNorthwest/Jason Rantz—-Not to be a downer or total fearmonger, but I’m hoping the local terrorist threat relies more heavily on every aspect other than the one piece of advice given to us by FBI special agent Frank Montoya Jr.

During a news conference on Friday afternoon, where Agent Montoya expressed terrorists’ threats facing the region are real, he urged us to take preventive measures by reporting suspicions to local authorities.

“We find that with acts of terrorism, and definitely with active shooters, people are coming forward with excellent information after the fact, which is anything but preventive,” he explained.

In other words, if you see something, say something.

I hope that’s not what the FBI truly thinks will help, because due to the politically correct society Progressives have helped create, if you report any suspicions against someone that isn’t a heterosexual white Christian male, you will be labeled homophobic, Islamaphobic, racist, sexist and any other nasty label activists use against perceived microaggressions.

Progressive activists have made it so that the second you accuse someone of acting suspiciously, you are automatically assumed to be suffering from some kind of -ism. That the only reason you’re reporting the person (who isn’t white), is some deep-seated bigotry (a bigotry you might not even know about!).

Society was right to push the notion that, just because you look Muslim, you shouldn’t be deemed suspicious (the same way that just because you’re wearing a hoodie, doesn’t mean you’re a gangbanger). Lingering bigotry is why society sought to clarify the stance. I’m glad they did.

But the movement has gone too far, which is par for the course when it gets co-opted by ideologues who need to justify spending their college careers on their social justice degrees. They push contrivances like “microaggressions” and create an unjust world in their minds, just so they have something to fight against. And, mostly white activists, will call out everyone else’s bigotry so that they can say they’re helping end bigotry (via their, ironically, racist white saviordom complexes).

As a result, they’ll attack anyone who takes the advice the FBI gives, which is to simply report suspicious activities and characters. And if you’re wrong (or even if you’re right), you’ll be pilloried because maybe someone’s feelings will be hurt? I’m not sure how many people are willing to be labeled a bigot by reporting suspicious behavior, even if it does mean they’re preventing a terrorist attack or mass shooting, especially since they may be wrong. Unfortunately, they won’t always be wrong.

People I know are more worried about Donald Trump than about what happened in San Bernardino.

Well, I am not going to be anywhere crowded anytime soon. I have no reason to go downtown. I don’t care about the Seahawks so I won’t be at CenturyLink Field. When I saw this on the news I thought it was odd-and rare- to have such a press conference. What does  FBI Agent Montoya know that we don’t? Add to this King County Sheriff John Urquhart recently urged people to arm themselves, required off duty police to carry at all times and he recently had press conference to evaluate your situation as to whether flee, hide or fight if you are in a terrorist situation. Like, know your exits etc…very BFH.

I’m only going to leave my house to get the mail.

  1. Too many words. I’m shooting them in the face. In under 1 second. New rules! You are here and now responsible for your and your loved ones safety. Like our Sherrif says, “Our county is rural and spread out. Our average responce time is 12 minutes. I can’t change that. Learn how to defend yourselves until we get there”. That was 2 or 3 years ago.

  2. In the Politically-Correct EU (rhymes with Pee-Ewww), the fear of committing an actual “hate crime” will chill anyone from reporting suspicious activity. In the US, we ain’t quite there yet, but I would imagine in Seattle, Portlandia or anywhere else in the Northwest Collectivist Hive would seriously weigh the consequences of the act with the recriminations heaped upon them if their suspicions were not proved. A lady in San Bernadino saw suspicious activity but was frightened into silence by the unspoken PC-Hammer that might’ve befallen her.

That, my friends, is pretty damned sad.

  3. Don’t let the terrorists win by keeping you from living life at the fullest.

If you see something, shoot something. And don’t bother the feds about it either, they are busy doing … allahh knows what. Don’t forget to pick up your brass.

The author is part of the problem!

It’s called the dilemma of the “Broken Window” : Let things deteriorate a little bit at a time (similar to turning up the heat on a frog in a pot metaphor) and the “look like a muzzie” and “hoodie banger” GET YOU KILLED MIGHTY FAST.
