Oregon county creates race-specific ‘grounding space’ to escape ‘whiteness’ during pandemic

Just the News: In a daily report dedicated to news updates and guidance for county employees fighting the coronavirus, an Oregon county in the Portland area said it was creating a safe “grounding space” for minority staff to escape a predominant “whiteness.”

The April 5 “situation report” from the Multnomah County Office of Emergency Operations Center announced that the “Emergency Operations Center Equity Officer is hosting a grounding space for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) employees to share, heal, connect, and get grounded in a space that is not dominated by whiteness.” more

  1. …Isn’t this making the assumption that all non-White people LIKE each other?

…asking for Hutus and Tutsis, MS-13s vs. Bloods, and Korean shopkeepers on LA rooftops during race riots…

  2. Just what is meant by “grounding” in the context of race or color? Anybody know?

Probably a word cooked up by silly, half-baked liberal sociologists.

In any case, I hate Portland. It’s full of as many weirdos as Hollywood.

  3. …sorry, my Whiteness makes it impossible for me to take anything said by people from places with silly “Indian” names like Muckleshoot, Nisqually, Puyallup, Snohomish, and Multnomah seriously…

  4. I had to read that many times. I still do not understand?

This is like that show Cash Cab where I need to call a friend, smarter than I, for help on a foreign language I have never heard of.

  5. Oh shit, leave it to the guilt ravaged white liberals to project their guilt on the rest of us more grounded people. LGBTQRSXYZ wasn’t enough, now we have a new alphabet victim group: BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color).

In their own perverted way, they are re-instituting and reaffirming segregation

  6. So getting paid to do I don’t what while many non government people sit it out by mandate of a Comie governor? Somehow need a safe space because of being a shade skin darker? Can’t the government judge people by character not color?

  7. Hey, Kate; how about getting the state back to work? At least the counties with double-digit infections, and/or zero deaths. This idiot woman is hopeless. Thankfully she is term-limited and will be gone soon.

  8. My nerves are shot. I have watched 26 hours of World At War this week and my lawn and garden are the best they have ever been. I am all but out of Airgun practice ammo and have burned up three month’s worth of premium cigars in the last week.

WTF Homer? If this is what retirement looks like… perhaps getting up and going to work every day isn’t all that bad.

If I could relocate our RVs to central Washington and shoot rockchucks with my kids I would not have any issue with this bullshit, but enough is enough.

  9. @HP – well as long as you don’t get caught in a ‘we will take your cash’ cab in Portland or Eugene, you should be okay.

And always carry your international martian language translator with ya and be sure to be clear of any safe spaces.

  10. The Africans were all for equal opportunity under the law and being judged by content character until they somehow magically got Affirmative Action outcomes and now they like themselves all of that superiority status and privilege!

    “Grounding space?”

“Stand people 6′ apart and wire them together connected to a copper grounding rod in the soil. Check the weather. Wait.”

…hey Jimmy, maybe you’ll appreciate this electrician’s joke.

We used to call thus dull guy we had in the shop “Ground Strap”.

It was because he had no potential…

  13. All these anti-white college classes and safe zones need to be sued through the courts and INDIVIDUALS need to pay, not institutions because that is the taxpayers money, and they don’t care if it’s sued away from them.

NAME NAMES, and go after them. Make it hurt.
