– Individuals who use illicit drugs on public transit in Oregon face up to one year in jail and a $6,250 fine. A new law took effect on January 1, which aims to restore public safety to the transit system following years of open-air drug use that sparked an increase in lawlessness and violent crime.
Multnomah County’s new District Attorney Nathan Vasquez vowed to prosecute violators at a Monday press briefing.
“Every rider of public transportation has a right to breathe air that is not polluted with fentanyl or other illegal smoke,” said DA Vasquez, who historically ousted soft-on-crime prosecutor Mike Schmidt in the most recent election. “Smoking illegal drugs on a bus or train is dangerous and wrong. This new law does not allow deflection, and it’s a crime that we will prosecute.” — Post Millennial
…but shooting Horse while driving down the street in your POV is still totes OK…
“Every rider of public transportation has a right to breathe air that is not polluted with fentanyl or other illegal smoke,”
…but here in Ohio you cant walk through the parking lot at the grocery store or even be stopped in traffic without smelling pot smoke so strong it would make Cheech and Chong blush…
“up to one year in jail and a $6,250 fine.” Like anyone ever will have that maximum sentence handed down in deep blue Oregon.
Will it be called racism if a black perp is caught using illicit drugs on public transit in Oregon? Somehow, I think it will, and reverse discrimination will get whitey in trouble but not the black or other minority or a queer or LBGTQ offender.
I think I found a loophole. ILLICIT drug use. No drugs are illicit in Oregon. Nice try, commies.
How could a state that this movie (and book) was based on turn into such a libtard shithole?

It seems like they gave way more than an inch.
Jethro, I don’t think this law was aimed at the loggers riding the crummy to the logging show on Oregon’s South Coast; Oregon is ruled by the deep blue libs in just a few urban counties around Portland-Salem-Eugene.
For most offenders, a 6,250 fine might as well be a million dollars and a year in jail is just free room and board. OTOH, if it gets them out of civilized society I’m all for it.

They actively recruit the absolute worst examples of predatory subhuman pieces of shit to move to their shithole cities. Encourage and enable their pathological behavior and then push it out to every corner of the State by withholding access to federal and State grant funding from any jurisdiction that resists.
First off, yes they are incompetent and their policies are moronic. However obvious that is, what good and decent people have to be cautious of is not recognizing that they are absolutely wicked and evil and what you see is more often the malevolent pricks deliberately, systematically and gratuitously destroying what others value and derive pleasure from.
do they still get state sponsored drugs in jail?
