EAG News: NORFOLK, Va. – More than 500 Norfolk Public Schools employees have about a week to settle their past-due tax bills before the City of Norfolk will start to deduct the money from their paychecks.
WAVY reports 565 school employees, as well as 425 city workers, were initially sent personal property tax bills in May, and given until June to pay, but city officials have yet to receive the money.
Norfolk City Treasurer Anthony Burfoot said the city sent late notices in July, which extended the deadline for another month, but city officials won’t be sending a third notice before they start docking paychecks Nov. 13. more here
I bet these people think it’s unfair. After all, why should THEY have to pay taxes, when they are the privileged ones in public sector unions?
There was a letter to the ed in our local rag this morning about the lunacy of candidates threatening to dissolve federal agencies. The writer urged us to think of all the revenue and tax dollars that would be lost once these folks were out of a job.
He should read the above story.
Forgot to add that the Norfolk/Hampton Roads area was prime ACORN territory for Zero’s first election and they’re still there, albeit under a new name.
“We’re from the govt and we’re
here to parasitize the productive.”
Weaponized parasitization.
And there’s a tax on that.
Why this – garnishing wages for back taxes – isn’t standard policy is beyond me.
Other than common sense being beyond them.
So, you buy a car.
And then have to pay the fucking greedy bureaucratic maggots for the privilege of spending too much money on a hunk of worthless, death-trap fucking steel?
And if that vehicle kills or maims you, the same bureaucratic maggots you’re paying are gonna do absolutely NOTHING to recoup your loss or punish the guilty?
What’s wrong with this picture?
paying a gov. employee is comparable to taking water from the deep end of the pool and pouring it into the shallow end to make it more full.
They’re scammers for sure, but no unions in VA. It’s a right to work state, so fire them if they don’t pay.
