South Salt Lake City School Board Shuts Down Parents During Meeting
and Escape Out Back Door After Refusing to Listen to Demands
The Conservative Treehouse – School boards are where mini-dictators are grown. Thus the latest exhibit comes from South Salt Lake, Utah and the Granite School District Board of Education meeting.
The board was going to hear proposals of removing the mask mandate for K-12 students. However, they would only allow one parent to speak during “citizen participation time”, a control method for keeping the pesky proles from expressing their opinion of board policy.
After the board allowed a mask advocate from the state to speak, the School board said that’s it, no more discussion. Parents became infuriated, things got ugly …

Just stop wearing one. JUST STOP.
I am so proud of my home state right now! South Salt Lake, you rock!!!
That is a great graphic. Saved for posting elsewhere.
That puts a pause to the crap notion that so called ‘public servants’ work for the people that voted them into office!
Send the Karens RUNNING!!! >:->
Granite School District includes roughly a third of Salt Lake County (not quite 67,000 students). Their offices are in South Salt Lake.
Unfortunately, we moved into the district when my kids were just starting school. Fortunately, my kids are all out of Public Education.
Their board meetings are dog and pony shows tightly run by the Superintendent. It is a corrupt school district going back decades. About 15 years ago, I was speaking to a board member over the phone about their tearing down our elementary school to make things easier for a developer. He suddenly offered me a job. It turned out the out-of-the-blue job offer was an effort to silence me at board meetings. They have a rule that says people who are negotiating jobs or contracts cannot speak. I did anyway, over his objections.
This same board member was responsible for selling a large parcel of land, set aside for a high school and elementary school, at well below market price. That was what he didn’t want discussed in public.
They also built a new elementary school only a half mile from a new homeless men shelter. They conveniently neglected to mention their plans for construction in order to not be an obstacle for the men’s shelter. They are very accommodating when it comes to developer and oligarch priorities, but they don’t care much about students.
Keep your children out of the government school systems.
I think we all have had enough.
Frickin mask Nazi’s. 🤬
“ However, they would only allow one parent to speak during “citizen participation time”, a control method for keeping the pesky proles from expressing their opinion of board policy.”
Go back in time to December 2019-January 2020 and you see that I had recognized a pattern of local, regional and National newspapers sun setting their reader comments sections. The explanation was obviously a cut and paste job in each instance. So up goes the red flag and I’m not having a hard time figuring out that this is in preparation for a spring offensive. Not that ol’ JDHasty is an Oracle or anything like that but progressives are nothing if not predictable and application of Occam’s Razor.
Occam’s razor is the principle that, of two explanations that account for all the facts, the simpler one is more likely to be correct. Given the explanation was as derivative and scripted that also casts doubt on that as genuine.
The plain and simple fact of the matter is anything that does not support the progressive narrative is under attack and transparently so.
What I would give good money to see is attendees showing up with a tar bucket behind a F350 and a box van full of feathers right behind it and a great big sign saying: Dare Us
“Not that ol’ JDHasty is an Oracle or anything…” -JDHasty
No, just all-knowing, all-seeing, all-omniscient, seer, soothsayer, sage, borderline mystic and part-time Republican Convention bouncer and webblogger,
CarnacJDHasty …. the Magnificent! All my children are out of school now, but I think it would be fun to show up at a school board meeting with a couple of long lengths of rope with nooses tied in them. If asked why, “in case things get out of hand.”
folks like this school board need to be scared for their hides.
A lot of unnecessary aggravation could be remedied by getting rid of school boards, teachers unions, and, of course, Karen-coveys, AKA HOA’s.
