WaEx: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., tore into Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., in a Monday interview, saying that having a team of House Democrats able to pass legislation is more important than the size of any member’s social media following.
“While there are people who have a large number of Twitter followers, what’s important is that we have large numbers of votes on the floor of the House,” Pelosi said in a USA Today interview, taking aim at the freshman lawmaker’s social media habits.
Ocasio-Cortez became the face of progressives in the House after she unseated establishment Rep. Joe Crowley, N.Y., in the Democratic primary last summer in a Bronx-and-Queens district.
Again, like LCD said in another thread, it’s not what they say, it’s what they do. Posing with Sandy O on the cover of Rolling Stone and giving her a seat on the House Financial Services Committee tells me Nancy is more frightened of Tweeters than voters.
The Democrats may have a few personality squabbles among themselves, but the only thing I see disagreement on about their policies is how to best implement them.
They all believe and stand for the same thing, in that regard they are all the same.
Nan’s Twitter account only has 3 followers!
Lol. Betty from the Bronx doesn’t know that “doing the Lord’s work” involves getting the illegal votes, not kudos.
