Pelosi says she wants to see Trump ‘in prison’

WaEx:

At a huddle among top Democratic lawmakers Tuesday night, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reportedly said she wanted to see President Trump jailed.

“I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison,” Pelosi said, according to Politico.

The California Democrat reiterated her stance that she would rather see Trump defeated at the ballot box during the 2020 elections and then prosecuted for alleged crimes that she believes he might have committed.

Pelosi spokeswoman Ashley Etienne said that the meeting between Democrats about special counsel Robert Mueller’s report was “productive.”

“They agreed to keep all options on the table and continue to move forward with an aggressive hearing and legislative strategy, as early as next week, to address the president’s corruption and abuses of power uncovered in the report,” Etienne said.

Pelosi is at odds with House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., who wants to launch an impeachment inquiry against Trump. During the meeting he reportedly pressed her to begin the inquiry, only to receive pushback from Pelosi and others in leadership.  more

  1. They’ve got zip zero nada, but with a major election coming up they have to keep throwing bones to what’s left of their base. That’s all this is. Calling it “political theater” would be dignifying it.

  2. “I want to see him in prison…”

You might get your wish, Nancy. He might even pardon you if you’re not nasty. But I think you’re more likely to see him on the TV in your hospital room.

  3. Can you imagine the hoo-hah there would be if Boehner or Ryan (not that they would) said this about Barkey?

There’d be riots and shootings and knifings in all the major cities, kind of like…well, like there are NOW, but bigger and more orchestrated.

…it would probably be ILLEGAL to be White, had THAT happened.

…sadly, given recent “republican” House speakers, we’ll never know.

…I don’t LIKE Democrats, but at least they’re consistently loyal to a cause, how ever bad that cause may be.

…wish we could find REPUBLICANS that comitted…

‘I won’t,’ said Frodo. ‘Never. But I may forgive you.”

“I want to see her recite her address and phone number without collapsing.”

…actually, I’d kind of PREFER that she collapse, but that’s just me…

“People in hell want ice water, that doesn’t mean they are going to get it.”

    …yep…

“19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

    22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.”

  7. Madam Squeeker,
    Your prepositions are all confused.
You hope to see President Trump from the Federal prison you are in. That is unlikely, but your cell may have a TV, or not!

  8. Hey, Nan-a! The President of The United States is immune to perprosecution. But Clan Kushner’s just ordinary citizens. Maybe a little transference will settle those twitches down.

  9. Uh, Nan, speaking of prison, would this be a good time to have the DoJ take a look-see at your finances? President Trump has already had his life put under a microscope for at least 3 years and they found nothing. What say you go thru the same thing?
