Pentagon Scientist Declares Naval UFO Footage a “Parallax” Effect

Fox News

Dr. Jon Kosloski, the director of the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which is tasked with investigating UFOs, or what the Pentagon calls unidentified anomalous phenomena (UPA), says that the object was not anomalous — or out of the ordinary — and hovering over the water but was in fact 13,000 feet above the sea.

He said the phenomenon was caused by a trick of the eye” called parallax, which made it look like the object is moving much faster. More

Members of Congress have not so sanguine with AARO explanations:

“AARO is unable, or perhaps unwilling, to bring forward the truth about the government’s activities concerning UAPs,” Representative Nancy Mace (R-South Carolina) said during the hearing’s opening remarks. “I’m disturbed that AARO itself lacks transparency; even its budget is kept from the public. So if there is no ‘there’ there, then why are we spending money on it? And by how much? Why the secrecy?” More

  1. It seems to me the “expert” didn’t actually explain what the UFO was only that it’s movement and altitude weren’t what it appeared. Did I miss something here and the guy declared it was a goose or whale or something completely unremarkable?

  2. My father was an Air Force navigator in the Vietnam war, among other things. He retired after 20 years of service.

He describe a very likely UFO event when he was service inside a nuclear SILO bunker on his death bed. He passed that night.

For years, whenever UFO’s came up, he stated that ANY pilot with any significant flight experience has seen multiple UFOs. If they deny this, they are liars.

The universe is much too vast to only have one planet containing life existing within it.

  3. Intelligent live exists elsewhere in the universe IMO but also IMO few people appreciate the barriers to useful travel between star systems.

Unless/until a civilization discovers a way to circumvent the cosmic speed limit of c, and human research has revealed not even a faint hint of that so far, even the communication time lag between points A and B is equal to the distance in light years. 20 light years apart? 20 years for a message to transit. And another 20 to get an answer. The Milky Way galaxy is roughly 100,000 light years across and it’s just one insignificant galaxy in a universe containing from 100,000,000,000 to 2,000,000,000,000 galaxies.

Physical travel is even more daunting because the inherent duration is still limited by c, but the energy needed to accelerate to a speed close enough to c to make a big difference is astonishingly large. Plus, not only do you have to get up to speed, you have to slow down at the end of the journey which will take just as much energy as the beginning.

Finally, when considering whether we’re seeing signs of non-Terrestrial life, we bump into the Dark Forest theory. Look it up.

Oh, and parallax isn’t a “trick of the eye.” It’s a well understood property of three-dimensional space.
