Newser – Four years ago, a missionary pilot from Minnesota disappeared during a flight from South Africa to Mali and was never heard from again. South African authorities declared two months later that Jerry Krause had crashed and died, but now his family says new evidence has caused the South African government to remove their official report and that Krause is actually alive and has been seen, CBS Minnesota reports. The family even says the US government knows Krause’s whereabouts but the Department of Defense doesn’t have authorization to act on the information.
According to the family’s “Find Jerry” Facebook page, representatives from the Pentagon and the Department of Defense have told them President Trump or Vice President Pence would need to approve any rescue attempt. The family is asking people to contact their senators and representatives. The family also claims Krause was kidnapped during the flight on April 7, 2013, but no evidence of him or his plane was ever found.

The never ending plight of the do-gooder. Who could have foreseen such events? I’ll bet the family members that advised against his do-goody nonsense are employing the “I told you so” narrative on a daily basis.

I feel sorry for the guy, but, I’m sure some people have felt sorry for me before. Still, I learned to endure and move on. Hope he can too.

Not a helluva lot of information in the postings. “He’s been seen”, ok where, when and what were the circumstances? The SA government removed the report of his disappearance on the advice of an investigator due to “new information” which they won’t share. Ok, print the official SA response to your questions.If there is no response then picket outside the SA embassy. In the meantime contact your Senators and Congressmen and perhaps build a case to get a petition into the WH. I hope they find their husband and father and that he’s safe.
The “values of Prince””…hmmm…maybe Prince is still alive, too.
It’s probably just as well, he was likely heading for Iran next to build wells and then it was off to North Korea to start a mission.

There is so much missing from this story. Was he kidnapped? By whom? Where? Why is DoD involved? Is he some kind of spy? This is another example of sloppy reporting. Don’t they teach the “5 W”s in journalism school anymore?
