A plurality of American adults, including Hispanics, support a plan touted by President-elect Donald Trump to end the nation’s anchor baby policy that gives birthright American citizenship to the United States-born children of illegal aliens, a new poll finds.
The Economist/YouGov poll reveals that 45 percent of Americans back ending birthright citizenship for the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens — including 48 percent of white Americans and 42 percent of Hispanics.
Also, 50 percent of Americans earning $50,000 to $100,000 a year, 49 percent of Americans earning more than $100,000, and 66 percent of Republicans similarly support ending birthright citizenship. more
100% of all real Americans
And, as Congress has done with tax laws, make the change retroactive.
As Holman said, don’t separate the families, send the whole brood away. They came in from Mexico. Return them to Mexico. Let Mexico deal with their final relocation.
As for the Dreamers. You don’t get to benefit from your parents breaking the law and back you go. There would be no sympathy if my father were arrested for jewelry theft but my sister and I had grown comfortable living off the riches of his spoils.
Of course the 14th Amendment needs to be “amended”, but wouldn’t closing the border solve most of this?
Equally onerous are our current asylum laws, they all need to be scraped immediately. Each Democrat president has widened the perimaters, going from “persecuted peoples”, to anyone from “dangerous” countries, to now anyone from a country that has any semblance of gang violence. Providing asylum to anyone is not our responsibility, morally, ethically, or legally.
Revolutions incubate from the ground up, from conditions that foment insurrection from the people who live there and have a vested interest in staying put.
Can you spell ABUSE? How about LOOPHOLE? The 14th ammendment was created for granting citizenship to native Americans, IE the Indians. It was never intended to be used a means of citizenship exploitation like we have today.
demotards: move your punk ass to haiti, start transporting self-deporters/shitholers & supporting them on your dime & time
It’s not compassion. It’s a Leftist tool to allow Freeloaders to skirt the law.
Keep this in your back pocket for handy reference in case you have the misfortune of having to argue with any pro-illegal alien people who want to whine about evil Trump separating families: If any of us real Americans committed a crime that ended in jail time, we’d be separated from our families too. Further, if any of us were murdered by an illegal alien, we be separated from our families until the we’re reunited in Heaven, or spend the eternity with our murderers if we don’t believe in Heaven.
Hardened alien criminals who leave now are getting a sweetheart deal.
I felt very motherly and heartbroken reading about the 10 year-old boy dumped at the border by a smuggler. The kid was all alone with only a cell phone. When found, he was crying. The article said his parents were somewhere in the U.S.
How and why would his own family entrust their child to a smuggler like that, to suffer the fate of that on his own?! I simply cannot imagine any circumstance that would allow me to place my child in the hands of strangers under those conditions, unless I knew I was dying and had no other option.
Do you think parents or a parent who would do that cares about anyone or thing more than themselves? I don’t.
Just to he clear, I support the idea of getting rid of giving “anchor babies” citizenship.
That being said, what do they mean by “plurality?” My understanding of that word is that if there are three choices that people weigh in on, if one gets 25%, one gets 35%, and one gets 40%, the one with 40% wins with a plurality.
However, if there are two choices and one has 45% (such as eliminate the concept of anchor babies or keep it), that means that the one with 55% wins out. The 45% lost. No plurality about it. I looked at the article to see if they could explain their use of the word but I did not see it if they did.
Or am I being pedantic?
Ah, I guess if 45% want to get rid of it, 35% want to keep it,and 20% have no opinion that makes a plurality. I could have missed that, but my eyes are still blurry from all that turkey.
Or was it because Satan jabbed his fat ass with that pitchfork again?
The Africans make sure they arrive pregnant or with a pregnant wife or they get pregnant asap after arriving.
They learn quickly how to game the system.
Thanks in large part to Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities ought to be charged for the trips back to native countries
