Postmaster General Loses It in Front of Congress

Red State

This is intolerable. Were he a toddler and not just acting like one, this would result in Mr. Bottom taking a swift trip to Spank-Land. If he were in a criminal or civil courtroom, it would not be surprising if he were to end up doing a few days in the country slammer for contempt of court. But this is a grown man in a position of serious responsibility in the United States federal government.

Back in my corporate days, an act like this would almost certainly result in someone being cashiered on the spot. That is, in all candor, what should happen to [Postmaster General] Louis DeJoy. Adults don’t act like that, and a person who is highly placed in the federal bureaucracy, who is being interviewed by a congressional committee, really shouldn’t be acting like this. It’s embarrassing. It’s disgraceful. And speaking as one of the taxpayers that pay this man’s salary, as far as I’m concerned, it’s grounds for dismissal.

What’s worse, this man is in charge of a federal service that lost $6.5 billion in fiscal 2023. More

  1. Remember, DeJoy was appointed in 2020 by Trump.
Why the leftists kept him there, after screaming about his appointment in 2020, is beyond me – as are his actions and antics given that he’s a Trump appointee.

  2. Honestly, it was an absolute mess when DeJoy inherited it and Congress certainly did nothing to help him fix anything. So I think the Congressman’s actions at the hearing were more posturing than DeJoy’s.

  3. It’s the Oversight Committee, the whole thing is for sound bites and quick reads. The Postmaster played right into their hands, he should have known better by now to just sit and take it.

  4. I live in a town of less than 3000. I can’t mail a letter to someone else in this town without it traveling 350 miles to OKC and back. They used to sort local mail at the post office but that was too taxing being guberment employees and all.

  5. the fake ballot checks from china bounce? no worries, how about a “fight for democracy check from ukraine”? syria cashing them all day long. the government has become a zero integrity institution. i heard pelosi made bank on the ceo assassination. no logical person believes. maybe the displaced n carolina peeps will live long enough to send a letter for help. might as well address it to santa. im sure the postal service turnaround is very good at “return to sender”

  6. A nuther worthless, little, Federal Tit-Sucking, Parasite, who isn’t able to work in the Private Sector because he’s too incompetent! His only real talent is to whine, belly-ach and point the finger of blame at others. The arrogance and hutzpah is off the charts with this ass who take no responsibility what so ever for what he himself is in charge of. 6.5Bil is a serious fuck up!

  7. It tool 17 days to get my estimated tax delivered thru priority mail. We all had better start using Certified mail for important documents and transactions. I might have to pay a penalty for taxes not arriving on time. Naturally, the Post Office is now routing mail thru major cities that have employees of ‘that’ persuasion.

  8. It’s my letter carriers that are the reason I try to avoid having anything shipped to my home address. We often have to re-deliver the mail to the right addresses here ourselves. And, of course, when something valuable never gets to me, I know one of my neighbors liked what was delivered. Like $200 of pet meds last time I tried to use my Vet’s online store to “save money”. Well, that cost the Vet $200 since I never got it.
