More Americans Want States to Ignore Federal Courts.

theNewAmerican- While dissenting from the recent Supreme Court decision rubber-stamping same-sex “marriage,” Justice Antonin Scalia warned his colleagues that with “each decision … unabashedly based not on law” the Court moves “one step closer to being reminded of [its] impotence.” And a new poll shows that another such step has in fact been taken, with more Americans supporting the idea that states should have the right to ignore federal court rulings. more

  1. What can YOU do? I mean, you’re just one tiny slulb, how can anything you could do register with this behemoth? Like how is an ant going to let a hippo know that it just stepped in the ant’s garden?

There are several things I’m doing and I sure as hell am not going list them here. One thing I will confess is my refusal to provide any medical/health insurance information to the IRS. I always have to write a check at the end of the year so there was no return to subtract any penalty from-I guess I shall see what the future brings.

And no fucking court is going to tell me who I can hire or who I can provide my service to, I don’t give a fuck about public accommodation. Now if a couple homos came into my studio and wanted a depiction of them blowing each other, I’d turn them down in a second. But I’d also turn down a straight couple asking the same thing.

  2. Hey, the spirit of this Independence Day thing may come in handy – not soon, but today.

Start ignoring unconstitutional declarations now – like the 90% non-compliant regarding the NY Safe Act.

We, the people, better start acting on our power before we’re just fodder for soylent green.

    What are we? Sheep?

  3. Since the (not so) supreme court decided to do away with the Rule of Law on the 25th on June 2015, we are now free to disregard anything and everything they say. We can now live our lives as true Americans and DC can go pound sand. Any local officials who wish to play their game is more than welcome to move to DC or SHUT THE HELL UP !

  4. We had problems with intolerable
laws from another distant out of
touch tyranny about 250 years ago.
It’s not like we don’t know how
    to handle the situation.

  5. The whole issue is that if the Executive can ignore the Constitution, with impunity, and the Judiciary ignores the Constitution, fabricating “rights” out of thin air, and the Legislature is composed of so many cowards that they’ve empowered the faceless, unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats of the Agencies to make “law” through the regulatory process, so that they don’t have to answer for any adverse effects, why the FUCK should WE care about anything they claim?

Outside of brute force, of course.

Communism in Russia and Eastern Europe died because people simply quit believing in it. Their leaders no longer believed, their police no longer believed, so the proles said “Fuck it,” too!

Listen to the psychopaths running for office – NONE of them believe in our system, any longer. NONE of them. NONE of them will call for the deportation of the rat-people. NONE of them will call for the return of Puerto Rico. NONE of them will demand the repeal of the 16th and 17th Amendments. NONE of them will demand the practice of “civil disobedience” to resist the SCROTUS and the President’s clearly treasonous acts. NONE of them will demand an investigation into why Amb. Stevens had to be murdered. NONE of them will question the utter foolishness of the Iran “negotiations.” NONE of them will demand to know the terms of the Chinese capitulation.

Sorry to run on, I guess I’m pissed off for what should be an Independence Day.

  6. The Supreme Court has a place in our nation. To ensure decisions made by the federal government as regards defense of the nation from foreign invaders, and agreements made with foreign nations adhere to the Constitution.

To a much lesser extent, that the states not harm trade among themselves with laws that will restrict or burden said trade.

    That’s it.

All else must be determined by the states, as they are sovereign members of a UNION of States, NOT appendages of a federal government.

They really need to learn when their opinion is moot. They MAY NOT make law.

  7. I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who said “Rebellion against tyrants is obedience to God”..To me, THAT’S what the rebel flag represents, not racism. Happy Independence Day, Dear Nationalists!

  8. Andrew Jackson and Barack 0bama both ignore Federal Courts. Why not some of “the several states” who created that Frankenstein Monster.

In fact, if you READ The Declaration of Independence, we have an obligation to react to tyranny. (I bet I just got flagged by the NSA!)

  9. What if the 47% of us who are actually TAXPAYERS, who are now supporting the majority, just stopped filing Federal tax returns? They can’t jail us all.

Note to NSA Monitors: Just wondering….

  10. The Constitution does say this:

    Article 4, Section 1

Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.

Which means, if one state allows for “homosexual marriage” then that “marriage” is required to be accepted as legal in all other states. If my normal marriage is required to be so, then it must be with “homosexual marriage.” There really isn’t anything you can do. We demand that our concealed carry permits be recognized in every state. Any they are, because of this section of the Constitution.

The problem is we, as humans, have bias. The ‘tards want this to mean “homosexual marriage” yes, gun rights, no. We want it to mean gun rights yes, “homosexual marriage,” no. It means yes to both.

However, this does not mean a state is required to issue a license for “homosexual marriage.” That IS a state right and it doesn’t matter what the supreme court says. Marriage is CLEARLY within the purview of the states. Any state that so chooses may ignore the recent supreme court decision. The federal gov’t does not tell the states what they can and can’t do. The Constitution does that. But they still have to accept, as legal, any marriage license from any other state.

I don’t make this up. I just tell you what’s true.

  11. @Stranded: “Which means, if one state allows for “homosexual marriage” then that “marriage” is required to be accepted as legal in all other states.”

No, it does not in a strict interpretation. It only means other states must acknowledge that marriage is legal IN THE STATE it was granted.

For another state to bestow legal blessings on the act of another state within their borders is abhorrent to federal law that differentiates states from each other.

That would in fact render moot state legislatures and make them redundant to federal mandates.

What would be the point of having state legislatures if all law flowed from the federal structure?

I will agree, most states seem to have lost the fortitude to tell the feds to FUCK OFF in a resounding manner as would seem meet, but that is a failing of personages, not structure.

  12. By that logic, every state would have to recognize my Plumbing License? As Lowell writes below, they may recognize my Plumbing License, but that doesn’t mean they’ll allow me to do Plumbing in their state. Just as they recognize my Driver’s License, so long as I’m passing through – having it doesn’t mean that they’ll sell me a firearm.
