When Obama made an XO it was instant law (a “stroke of the pen, law of the land” sort of thing).
When Trump makes an XO it is just a request to the Court to let him do something if they approve of it.
There’s a difference between Leftist and conservative XO’s.
President Trump really wants this citizenship question on the form to determine the actual number of voting-age citizens for when the total votes are tallied, it can be determined how many are actually “Illegal Votes”, as the “Dead People” will not be on the census & all the “Illegals” voting in the Sanctuary Cities. The census forms should be in & counted before the election for the most part.
DO IT ALREADY.
Mr. Pen and Phone set your precedent. Run with it. Ignore all judges who say you can’t, then fire any gov’t functionary who does not comply.
Why would an illegal answer honestly?
C’mon, Mr. President, simply tell the census printer to go ahead and print up the forms WITH the citizenship question. Then remind Roberts that the SCOTUS has no enforcement powers of its own and must use some executive branch group to do that, and YOU, Mr. President, control the executive branch.
That would, of course, pour gasoline on the impeachment fire.
edit: What @grool said!
DO IT ….
Just go back to previous form (or the question as was written) before Obama deleted the question without court approval.
He has to do it, in my opinion.
The issue of the question is not resolved. If the question is printed, and the question is finally denied, a disclaimer can be printed to accompany the form. Such a disclaimer should ideally be rubber stamped on the form, and not be a sticker or label, which could be removed and its existence denied. This remedial work would provide temporary jobs for some, if it came to be. If the question is allowed, but not printed on the form, the question will not be asked. And that is what the democrats want- they will say that they allowed the question to be asked, but that it wasn’t.
How can a census not consider citizenship? If that is the route they plan on going, they should just pull numbers out of their asses and save on the printing and postage costs.
As the commie bitches at nike would say…JUST DO IT!
I picked up a wonderful new piece of hardware today, and while filling out the mandatory government paperwork I just pointed out two questions on the form –
Are you a beaner? Yes/no
Are you an illegal beaner? Yes/no
Dealer guy just shrugged.
Grool and Uncle Al. ^^^Fire the bastards and reinstate the question. Piss on the judges, it aint their job, and tell it to their face. Come hell or high water, this has to be asked.
Just claim to have found 500 million left over 2000 census forms (which include the question) and say you are using them to save printing costs and reduce greenhouse gasses.
The Census has been morphed into the American Community Survey, which is filled with all manner of invasive personal questions to American households. The Census should consist of:
1) How many live in the home?
2) Demographic of residents.
3) Are the inhabitants United States citizens?
Balls of steel. Nerves of titanium. Brains of Amexander the Great.
I honestly don’t see where the judiciary has any say in the matter. The executive has legal power over the administration of the census as prescribed by the constitution, the question has been on the census before without legal challenge, and the President is only carrying out his duties. The legal challenges to the question are being made by the Democrat party because they know they’re going to lose seats in the house as a result. I’d advise Trump to print the forms the way he wants them and let the left challenge him in court after the fact and explain why it’s any of their business.
In 2010 the Obama Administration sent me one of those long-ass census forms which wanted to know everything about my personal life including a bunch of financial data and how many toilets I had in the house. Estimated time to complete was an hour or more, including research. I ignored it and went down to the place where they had the basic forms for people who didn’t get one in the mail. They gave me one, I filled it out and sent it in. A census worker STILL showed up at my door and wanted to know why I hadn’t returned my form. I told him there must be some mistake because I had sent a form in. He said, O.K., can I just get your basic information then, anyway? I gave it to him and he left. I plan on doing the same thing if they pull that crap again.
Worst case scenario is they can fine you up to $100 for not providing answers. That’s 10 bucks a year between censuses. I figure can afford it.
