  1. All Americans are rough around the edges, deplorably so, that’s why I love ’em.
Those who aren’t are the pussies who are trying to destroy our country.

  2. Anybody else catch President Trump address the midshipmen graduation at Annapolis this morning? He was great! Got in many digs at the “previous administration”. Good stuff.

  3. A bar I used to frequent, frequently, in Suffern NY, had a Pearl Harbor survivor who used to drop by on occasion. On the Pearl Harbor attack he said: I don’t know what the fuck happened, I just lived.
Great guy. The ladies loved him, as did we. He passed away some years ago at 94. Red Dorman RIP. You are well remembered.

  4. The arrived at Pearl Harbor mid June 1974 to join a submarine crew. I recall it dawning on me Dec 7 2007 or 2008 that more years has passed since I arrived at Ford Island & first saw the USS Arizona that had passed since the attack when I first arrived there. On Ford Island the chow hall & the building we went to for dental checkups still had pock marks on the exterior walls where they were hit by Japanese fire.

It’s a timely post. Two days ago I toured the USS North Carolina battle ship & an hour ago finished watching Hacksaw Ridge. Pure hell for those men. We owe a lot to the men who served in WW2, not many of them left. I had four uncles who served and survived WW2, but they are all passed away.
