Pride Goeth Before the Fall – Life Goeth After

Newser-

The “deadliest spot on the Oregon Coast” has claimed another victim. A 25-year-old California man fell from a rocky bluff at Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area on Saturday and was pronounced dead a day later, reports the Salem Statesman Journal. State police said Henry Minh Hoang had hiked beyond a safety fence at the popular site with a headland offering stunning ocean views, whose sandstone cliffs can crumble suddenly, when he fell 20 feet. “The victim was reportedly knocked unconscious from the fall and was swept into the ocean by the waves,” according to a release.

His body was found Sunday afternoon on the shoreline, at the base of another cliff, per CNN. He’s just the latest to die at the site. A fatal accident in 2009 led to the extension of safety fencing, now running for 1,275 feet. But six more deaths would occur from 2014 to 2016, when an inquiry was launched. Many of the victims, aged 17 to 25, were found to have ignored warning signs and ventured beyond safety fences, as Hoang is said to have done.

  1. One of the most beautiful spots on Earth are the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. They are the highest sea cliffs in Europe rising to 700 feet from the ocean. There is not a fence or barrier to be found along their two mile length that would spoil the natural beauty. If you are stupid enough to fall, that’s your ass.

  2. Potential for a new tik-tok challenge,”For all the free spirits out there who don’t live by ‘The Man’s’ rules and shun conformity, here’s your chance. Signs? We don’t abide by signs. Let’s show them that we make our own rules, who can get the furthest past the signs? We want picks”.

And we get to feed the fish in the process, a win-win.

  3. The wife and I got married at Yosemite (my pick for the most beautiful place in the country) and every year on our anniversary we would go back. I could not remember a year where some dumbass tourist did not heed the signs and ventured out into the Merced River where they were taken over the falls by the strong current.

    You can’t cure stupid.

  4. I was at Niagara Falls a few years ago and was walking near the river shoreline just upstream from the falls. A gust of wind blew my baseball cap off my head and into the river. I really liked that hat and my first instinct was to rush after it. It blew into the water and started moving downstream. I started to think of a way to reach out into the water to grab it. Then the rational portion of my brain kicked in – It’s just a cap!
I watched it go over the falls. Better it than me…

  5. “Learn from the mistakes of others, because you’ll never live long enough to make them all yourself.” The person who said that may well be still alive. I always say you are born with just so much luck so don’t use it all up on BS risks, just had another birthday on Sunday…

Overall, drug overdose deaths rose from 2019 to 2021 with more than 135,000 drug overdose deaths. In 2022 the death rate from overdose was 127,000 Us Citizens.

Fentanyl and other opiate drugs flow freely across the southern border killing well over 250,000 US Citizens.

IF they can build a 1,275 foot fence because of one death in 2009 how about building a fence on the southern border for 250,000 deaths?

Lets see 250,000 deaths X 1275 feet per death = 318,750,000 feet of new border wall to stem the tide of illegal drugs and illegal immigrants who bring them to the US.

This is easily explained. The American school system is to blame for failing to teach these youngsters how to read and speak English. Henry Minh Hoang is an Asian name – possibly Hmong. He’s not the only one though, heck people drive off the cliffs along the coast here…intentionally. 2 lesbians and their adopted kids were the last to die – it was intentional.

  8. My family’s beach cabin is about a mile from Cape Kiwanda. I grew up around there. Went fishing all the time there. There was no fence when I was a kid. Hardly anyone died there that I can recall. I don’t know what has happened to society these days. I guess we’re breeding a bunch of stupid people.
