Just like the baker who shouldn’t be forced into creating a cake he doesn’t want to make, a printer shouldn’t have to print what they do not want to print.
Office Depot has refused to print fliers that are against Planned Parenthood. But, if the left applauds this they should have HYPOCRITE printed on their foreheads. They thought a Christian baker should be forced to participate in the celebration of gay marriage.
This incident is something I think about often. It’s very stressful when submitting AFDI ads, and even the Garland Muhammad Contest materials, to a printer. I could live with a flat out, “no.” (I think that is their right.) But you never know who will deliberately sabotage the work because they are progressives, or Muslims. That is not a right.

Agree, but a shame.
Why do people even participate in this drama. It’s so much easier to just say, we’re booked, unavailable, 6 weeks behind your deadline or it costs double.
Well now I’m a licensed gun manufacturer and I called our local throw away to run a gun add, I was denied. I put an add up on EBay for component parts for AR’s, denied. I’m feeling extreme prejudice.
I always wondered if a graphic artist could turn down work that politically they did not agree with. Let’s say they are hired to do the art work for a children’s book and it turns out it is about gay parents. Can they refuse?
Or is this the baker refusing to bake a cake for the gay couple?
Once you refuse, it’s obvious ‘your a republican’
One thing I appreciate Rand Paul for is his highlighting of Title II of the 1964 Civil Rights Act a couple of years ago: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Rights_Act_of_1964#Title_II
All of the other parts relate to requiring diversity from government agencies; Title II requires it from all private businesses. In his view, and mine, this goes against the First Amendment. I’ve had many discussions with people, particularly recently, about their frustrations with people they don’t agree with. And still they can’t understand that you can’t force people to like others when they don’t.
Brad what a cool job dude.
Yea it’ll be bad ass as soon as we start cracking the nut.
I refused assignments for all sorts of reasons and I was never asked to disclose why.
I’m sure if I refused to do a gay themed children’s book I would be questioned.
I can tell you that I’ve worked for every lefty magazine you can name.
Back in the day, when you went on portfolio showings, a left-wing tear-sheet did you no harm, even at the staunchest right-wing periodicals.
Show up at the NY Times with a National Review cover and youd be shown the door. I’m not kidding. I used to alter my portfolio depending on where I was going.
There was a time when the NYTs was very big on hiring eastern bloc nation illustrators. It was a thing with them. An irritating poseur thing.
I remember working for one art director that was disappointed that I wasn’t foreign.
What a jerk she was.
Thanks for the reply BFH. Very interesting. So the NYT was always run by SJWs
I would have a hard time being around hard core lefties. I have a big mouth.
If someone around me is really laying on the ‘I’m gay look at me’
Im going to say something they would not like. I also carry concealed so that would be a problem sooner or later.
Luckily I’m self employed and a business owner.
Everyone who works for me knows I’m a conservative republican.
But your HAT is foreign!
Sheesh. What’s her prob?!?
Some people are NEVER satisfied.
The Left has their own special set of regulations that apply to everybody but them.
I would use a private printer. Office Depot, it seems, prefers to hire progtards.
