Security experts are talking today about a piece of Spyware that was able to infect 30 organizations in Russia, Iran and Rwanda and remain undetected for five years.

Called Project Sauron or Strider, the sophisticated program is unique in having no common features with more well-known malware and for being able to execute a “jumping the air-gap” to steal data from machines not actually hooked up to the internet.  More

  1. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kaspersky was responsible for spreading this malware. Their IP address shows they are headquartered in Moscow.

    I’ve been told that Symantec used to send out viruses to promote their antivirus software.
