Put Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel on Bergdahl Case – This Guy is Impervious To Bias

The Bergdahl sentencing has been postponed because his lawyers have successfully argued, for now, that Trump has tainted the case with his anti-Bergdahl campaign rhetoric.

NBC-

Trump has called Bergdahl a “dirty rotten traitor” and called for the 31-year-old Idaho native to be executed by firing squad or thrown from a plane minus a parachute.

Saying he needed time to study the motion, the military court judge weighing the case, Col. Jeffrey R. Nance, recessed the court until Wednesday.

!snip!

Nance should be replaced with Curiel. The left has assured us repeatedly that Curiel is above reproach and was not at all a danger as a jurist in Trump’s own trial, despite holding the polar opposite view on all of Trump’s campaign rhetoric regarding illegal immigration.

Obviously this Nance guy is a pushover to chatter. We must appoint a judge like Curiel, who is impervious to bias, to handle the Bergdahl case.

  1. So Bergdahl statement over the weekend about being better treated by the Taliban didn’t taint the case? I think his statement and PDJT’s statement should nullify each other. And MY bias, hang him.

  2. Oh, and btw, remember 0bama’s monthly “cops acted stupidly” and other such comments? We already knew this guy deserted and he was already confessing and under authorities’ care before Trump got elected. Nice try, though.

  3. “Trump has called Bergdahl a “dirty rotten traitor” and called for the 31-year-old Idaho native to be executed by firing squad or thrown from a plane minus a parachute.”

No, the Military Code defines him as a traitor and prescribes punishment!

In a just world, obama would be faces the same charges for trading this vermin in order to free 5 valuable enemy combatants.

  4. Pres. Trump was merely suggesting to a different ways of execution. saying this is prejudicial to the case is pure bull sheet. Order a firing squad and get it over with. There will be no shortage of volunteers to be on this squad!

  5. “…Trump has tainted the case with his anti-Bergdahl campaign rhetoric…”

“… Trump has tainted the case with his anti-Muslim campaign rhetoric…”

They threw that up on the wall during the travel ban judgislating, and it stuck. Of course they’ll try it again.

  6. Trump should not have said anything about this case until it was final. Too often defense attorneys can take the smallest thing and make a mountain out of it but this was a mountain to begin with. The Judge worries that Trumps comments may impact their impression of military justice after he renders his verdict (perceieved too harsh a sentence then Trumps comment swayed the judge, too easy then Trumps comments forced the judge to back off). I’m not sure replacing the Judge at this point would make a difference as you can’t untweet the Presidents comments.

  7. We all know a traitor when we see one. He had not even been charged or convicted of treason, only desertion. The President was just stating the obvious. It should have no impact on the sentence.

  8. Judge Nancy needs time to study the motion? Seriously, he didn’t see this coming? The defense attorney used Trump bias as a reason to plea.
Trump is now awarding the Medal of Honor to Captain Gary Rose. His story is amazing. How ironic a patriot and traitor honored on the same day.
