CPR: […] One immediate result of the hikes has already appeared in Southern California, where the garment industry faces an especially rough road. Sung Won Sohn, former director of apparel company Forever 21 and economist at Cal State Channel Islands, told the Los Angeles Times a veritable “exodus has begun,” with manufacturers already tempted to shift garment production overseas to retreat from the Golden State still further. “The garment industry is gradually shrinking and that trend will likely continue.”

…until the Unions turn around and ask to be EXEMPTED from the minimum wage…
GREAT (/s) ENROLLMENT STRATEGY!
LA unions’ position on $15 wage is they want exemption.

Follow the money, a lot of it financing this push is coming from foreign governments that fear American productivity and innovation.
The rebounding garment industry is an example of this. They are poised to push the Asians out of the market, this will stave that off.
This rate hike may have the unintended consequence that results in the exodus of illegals to other states. They will be chasing the business that leaves California.
You can’t earn $15 if no one will pay it.
Minimum wage crowd is so naive. They will never figure out how the unions used and deceived them. The minimum wage fools are thinking in terms of what they can buy today with a 50% pay raise. Unfortunately, that pay raise is going to increase the cost of everything they buy. They’ll get a 2016 pay raise but then have to pay 2018 prices. Their $2 a dozen eggs are now going to cost them $2.60. They’ll probably actually wind up with less buying power and then have to pay union dues on top of that. Gullible fools lost, clever and deceptive unions won.
The minimum wage crowd are the same Marxists with the same goals as climate changers, black lives matter, transgenders and queers, the destruction of America. And the lo-infos keep voting for them because they get free phones.
Many union wages are indexed from the minimum wage, meaning that this huge increase in the minimum will lead to huge increases in union labor wages.

That DOESN’T MATTER!
They IDENTIFY as “earning $15/hour”.
Careful what you ask for, or vote for.
The minimum wage should be zero
My first job paid $1.25 per hour washing dishes after school and I was loving it. Now I am old and retired and can not afford the “good thing’s in life” like a pizza night. May need to look for part time work. O well, my days are just about at an end so no need to worry much longer. Live long and prosper while you can.
