Monday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said he was working with lawmakers to dissolve Biden’s so-called Disinformation Governance Board.
The Kentucky Republican lawmaker said he opposed policing news organizations and argued determinations about “disinformation” should be left up to the public.
“We’re going to shut it down,” he said. “And I’m busily getting signatures from other senators. There is a way that we can get it onto the calendar. And there is perhaps a way we can actually get a vote. It’s not very easy when the Democrats control things, but I’m going to do everything I possibly can to get a vote to defund this organization. Boy, is it any — is it not with amazement you see how far that they have come from Kennedy’s Democrat Party? This is not your grandfather’s Democrat Party anymore. So much for the marketplace of ideas. They have decided that they are going to determine what disinformation is.” more

For me personally, the disinformation board is unnecessary. I have a rule that anything a politician says, or anything the government says is by default false. If, by some strange coincidence a politician says something that is in fact true, they either need to prove it to me or I have to independently verify that it’s true. For example, the government can claim that Joe Biden is the President, but I consider this to be false and don’t even believe Joe Biden exists at all.
Leftists love themselves some, or actually a lot of government, which is an exceptionally stupid position to take. But these are people with mental problems (really, would a normal sane person video themselves having a meltdown and then publishing that to the world?) and should be treated as such until they prove otherwise. But most of America should take the position that when a politician says something, they are required to prove its truthfulness or else shuffle off to Buffalo and pester some other people.
And I don’t believe any disinformation board is publishing any truthful information in the first place – it’s a government agency.
So… another “insurrection”? Pencil me in.
If flat earthers and scientologists can speak in the public square, so can you, and so can I. Hail Xinu!
