  2. Good morning Lady C, always good to see you up with your menagerie.

These does lurk out past my chicken coop normally, not liking the human activity on the back porch out of frame to the left or the wife’s barking Bichon that seems a tad anti-deer, but this was one of our -16 degree F days and the ladies chose to close up to us to avail themselves of our bird feeder (also to the left), you can see some spilled seed on the ground at the edge of the frame). I don’t normally encourage the deer because of what they did to my wife’s garden last year, but between having some pity for how cold it was and wanting to keep them around in case we need to invite them to OUR dinner, I laid some of the chickens’ cracked corn out for them later, that the hens didn’t like anyway.

Deer are OK, but they are kind of vermin if you try to grow anything, and they do poop and have ticks. My MIL contracted Lyme disease last year to prove that last part. So once the weather broke, the gravy train stopped and I unleashed the fuzzy white Hound of Howl to let them know there are boundaries and that we can be neighbors but never housemates.

They seem to respect that, at least better than the visitors to the bar that lived behind my OLD house did, but THOSE wild animals are in my past now and a different subject for another day…

  3. Lovely critters this morning.
While on a walk, I saw wild turkeys hanging out with a couple of deer at a neighbor’s collection of bird feeders.
Of course it would be a time that I didn’t have my phone.
Still, it was fun to just stand still and watch the critters at the neighborhood all you can eat buffet.

Sorry to hear your MIL contracted lyme.
There are multiple “coinfections” that you can contract from a tick bite – borellia, babesia, bartonella, erlichia to name a few. Most doctors don’t understand and the CDC protocol is pathetic. After decades of suffering I recently tested positive for bartonella. If she still has symptoms after treatment I suggest you research this site to find a “renegade” lyme dr near you: lymenet.org.

Thank you Jethro I will look into that as she still has problems with it, but she’s an 81 yo diabetic with numerous medical complaints and a pharmacopeia of meds, so just coordinating doctors is an adventure, especially since she broke her neck (literally) and needs a hip.

Sorry to hear you’re suffereing too, I will keep you in prayer, but I can’t say I’ve heard of “bartonella”. Having been DX’d, can they treat/cure it? Have you beat it, or is that even possible

Thank you again for your suggestions and links in this.

    God Bless,
    SNS
