  1. It’s 11 degrees at my house this morning and the snow/sleet/freezing rain is coming this afternoon. My daughter’s gerbils know it’s cold outside even though they are in her bedroom. They won’t come out of their little hut to get sunflower seeds this morning.

  2. Jamie woke everyone up around three o’clock in the morning, barking at a raccoon or a falling branch. Maybe it was a cougar. Sometimes I think he just wants make sure we know he’s on guard. He was rewarded with a bit of honey for his sore throat.

  3. Thanks for this, Lady C. After that last thread, I need a little decompression.

I like the woodpeckers and have a couple of different species, but I don’t like them pecking on my HOUSE. I put the feeder next to my wooden back porch to tempt them away.

They seem to be doughy bitds, tho. They are the only birds I ser consistently feeding even on zero degree days. I have dead trees in the wood in the creek next to my house, but those little guys must put off a LOT of heat for huddling in a hole to do them any good…

Thanks again for the relief. The good things of God’s creation continue undisturbed by the temporal politics of man.

    Sometimes we need a reminder.

    God bless,
    SNS

  4. In my neck of the woods it’s 33 degrees with wet heavy snow coming down on a layer of sleet on top of a a layer of rain. Perfect conditions to hunker down with iOTW. Thanks to you send in your critter pics and to Claudia for posting them. Stay safe everyone.
