Red Cross Admits To Losing $6 Million In Ebola Corruption

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has done a review of how resources were handled during the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone in 2014-2016 and have found millions were lost due to poor controls, over charging, fake billing, and fake payroll reporting to the tune of $6 million.

The IFRC has since implemented what it calls the “triple defense” (operations, compliance and internal investigation) framework to prevent further cases of corruption and stealing from aid funding.

  1. Any funds sent to Africa for any reason will be mostly seized and used by warlords, terrorists, or other assorted shitheads. The amount of foreign aid sent to Africa is in direct proportion to the amount spent on internecine war.

  2. The “Red Cross” is a bad, front-loaded political machine, and the “Red Crescent” is like the UN only more corrupt.

Giving to these national organizations is like flushing your money down a toilet.

  3. I will give absolutely ZERO to Red Cross. That has been my feeling for decades. They aren’t what they claim to be. The same with United Way. Huge paychecks for their execs. Give directly to the charities you support.
