With a population of 200,000 Jews, Germany is home to the world’s fastest-growing Jewish community. And yet many Germans have never met a Jewish person – something “Rent a Jew” aims to change. DW’s Kate Brady reports.
“How many of you have met a Jew?” At a technical college in Solingen, Western Germany, 15 out of 20 cautious teenagers answer with just as many variations of no.
“I’ve most likely crossed paths with one,” says one student. “But I wouldn’t necessarily know.”
That’s where “Rent-a-Jew” steps in. “You never forget your first,” the project’s tagline reads. The initiative – with its admittedly provocative name – was launched by the Munich-based European Janusz Korczak Academy.
The program’s 50 members are leading seminars with private groups and educational establishments across Germany. In reaching out to non-Jews, the initiative aims to provide the opportunity to socialize with the Jewish community and break down prejudices in the process. Among them is Moscow-born Mascha Schmerling and Hanoverian Monty Aviel Zeev Ott.
!snip!
Germany is supposedly appalled by their past and what they did to Jews.
This is why, I suppose, that they’ve recently populated Germany with more Muslims than Jews, because they care so much. As we all know, Muslims love the Jews!

Man I want one of those hot women with the nice asses carrying an assault weapon. Where do I sign up?
Not the brightest Jews on the continent are they.
Perhaps “Rent A Jew” could consolidate a list of all the country’s Jews into one convenient registry to help curious Germans know where to find one at any given moment.
Perhaps, in the spirit of diversity and inclusion, they could mark their businesses with a symbol so that they could all frequent their places of business on the same night in a show of solidarity. Call it “Jews Night Out”.
That seems like a great idea. I’m surprised no one’s thought of it before.

So what’s next? Rent A Gay so we can get to know them better? Rent An African American? How about Rent an American Indian? There are many cultures I don’t know, but I doubt I would insult any of them by suggesting I would ‘rent’ one.
Renting something implies useing it. That is just plain disgusting unless you are hiring someone to do a job.
They obviously have not thought this through. Have the muslim “refugees” heard about this yet? Not going to end well.
“Beaten like a rented in Jew” probably won’t sound any better in German.
