Rep. Jason Chaffetz moves to censure IRS chief, strip pension

FOX: The chairman of the top House investigative panel introduced a measure Wednesday to censure IRS Commissioner John Koskinen — and remove him from office without a pension — in the latest bid by Republicans to pressure him into being more cooperative in their probe of the 2013 IRS targeting scandal.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, head of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, is seeking Koskinen’s resignation or removal for what he calls an alleged “pattern of conduct inconsistent with the trust and confidence placed in him as an officer of the United States.”

If censured, Koskinen, who became commissioner in 2013, would also forfeit his government pension and other federal benefits.  read more

  1. I can’t believe how inept this republican congress has been. Does anyone really believe that these servants of the people are serious about getting to the bottom of any of these scandals? Koskinen to be removed from office with no pension? Fat chance.

  2. I am going into my 3rd year of IRS audit (I’m a small fry who contributed small amounts to several Tea Party organizations). One of the items I had to prove was that the dental expenses I listed were for my own teeth. They arbitrarily denied other business deductions and made errors of addition they refuse to correct. There’s no end in sight and- after consulting with lawyers -nothing a small fry can me can do but ride it out.

The IRS sent me a questionnaire asking my opinion of the organization.

They did not have a middle finger picture to circle.

As far as I’m concerned, they all should be fired, stripped of pensions and prosecuted for treason.

  3. There’s no way they’ll take away his pension.

BTW, are we going to be able to use our picture icons in the comments? And will we always have to log in our info to comment? The old way did have its conveniences.

  4. Obamanation will either pardon him and restore his pension or add him to the others being shielded under executive privilege. The self-aggrandizing liege lord obsma giveth and smashes.

Chavetz needs to go after Jeh Johnson, also.
