Report: 1,000 D.C. Public School Teachers Are Not Licensed

Breitbart:

Roughly 1,000 public school teachers in Washington, DC, are operating without a license, according to a report released Thursday.

The report from NBC 4 Washington found that about one in four teachers in D.C. Public Schools taught without a license during the 2017-2018 school year.

The news station analyzed D.C. Public Schools and Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) databases of new and veteran teachers over the past year, many of them obtained through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.  more

Teach for America is a program which brings people of different backgrounds and experiences into the classroom to enhance learning. They are not licensed teachers but were issued an alternative license from the State of Colorado to teach. These teachers are currently enrolled in classes to attain their traditional teaching license after one year. But, Denver has a significant population of students who are undocumented. . .

  2. President Lazlo would mail a hefty voucher to every parent of every child that goes to a DC school with an unlicensed teacher.
Then Fire every single one without proper licensing.
Licensing means I’m serious about what I do.
I guess in DC, not so much

  3. That Oyster Adams Bilingual School I referenced in a comment above, in it’s FB there’s stuff about their 7th grade trip to Spain and their 8th grade is taking trip to China!

By the time all this stuff comes to light everyone will be on the T-train.

  4. Thanks for posting that, Dee. Why am
I not surprised that real teachers are being pushed aside to make room for illegals with an “alternate teaching license”. Just one more step towards Shithole USA.

  5. can’t help posting again–Promise I wont make this a habit–BUT that DC schools Twitter link about piano for all K-5, I saw another post where they want to expand it to PK4 and PK3–that means PK age 3–piano lessons paid for three-year-olds.

  6. Dee: your link lead me to Teach for America. Holy Krap! This group is literally everywhere, spreading the left wing gospel. Their massive donor list reads like a who’s-who of anti-American groups and individuals.

  7. “But, Denver has a significant population of students who are undocumented, and Boasberg believes this effort will help serve those families.”

Because you’re a freaking Sanctuary city! I wonder what these DACA-ites actually TEACH the illegal chilluns?

  8. DC had a teaching Commisar who had a “PhD ABD” after her name.
She was paid over a hundred thousand dollars a year and after some time (I forget) she got into some trouble and the DC Council asked her … scuse me “axt her” … what was with the “PhD ABD” and her response was a “PhD All But Dissertation!”

So there really shouldn’t be much to surprise in the cesspool of ignorance that is DC.
I can’t remember more of the story as it was one of those “ya just shake your head and laugh” moments when I read it.

    izlamo delenda est …
